2021 ZL1 Triple Black vert with a 6 speed on order

The wife has decided that is what she needs. Living in Texas, I dread an all black car. It will be hot and never be clean. Oh well - 650hp and a manual trans will make up for it I guess. Carbon hood insert, carbon dash, and Nav are the only options.

it is at Status 3000 and is supposed to be built in March.

Making the list of stuff for it.

ZL1 jacking points (was looking for jacking rails like on our GT350R) but I guess that isn’t a thing for the ZL1?
Car cover
Wind Splitter thingy for the back seat.
Oil, trans, and Diff change.

Does it call for the engine oil/filter to be changed at 500 miles? I am planning on doing engine, trans, and diff at 1000. Then again at 3000. It is amazing how much garbage comes out of these things when they are new.

What else do I need to get on order for it?

Thanks,
D.

as far as the oil and diff look at the sticky at the top of this forum great info in it.... and the manual trans fluid. from my research i plan on changing the GM stuff over to the tremec HP MT fluid when i get around to changing it.

Don’t know if the jack pads from ZL1 Add ons will fit a vert and change the oil early if you want.

That exposed carbon hood insert looks real good and the dash insert too. The first owner of my ZL1 didn’t get the dash insert but the hood insert.

Being a black car I would seriously look at getting some ppf. At the very least at the areas of impact like the front of the car and the area in front of the rear wheels. Also, to make it easier to clean the rims, I would have them ceramic coated as well as the calipers. This will help big time in the cleanup of the rims.

Car cover? Is the car going to sit outside or garage kept? If garage kept then GM offers some really nice indoor covers.

ZL1 add on jack pads. I tightened my attachment set screws just enough that I can take them on and off when I put the car in the air. Takes under a minute to take them on and off. Some guys leave them on. I keep mine stored in the trunk in case I do need them. They are nice pieces so it keeps them clean too. And also, you never have to wonder if they have contacted anything and are about to fall off the car.

Gonna look great and manual too, nice. Both a ZL1 and GT350R is even better. Congrats and be sure to post some pics!

Congrats on your purchase, you're going to love it! I agree with you on the paint color, but I suppose the Happy Wife, Happy Life maxim trumps the minor drawback of owning a black car in Texas!
I was 17 years old and the proud owner of a triple black '66 L78/M22 Chevelle when we moved from Chester, Virginia to Houston. After a couple of summers, I couldn't take it anymore! At least you have ac and a very, so you will definitely have it easier than I did!

I bet you wish you still had that ‘66 Chevelle. The ‘66 looked better to me in the front end and the rear too.

Yes, I'd like to have that one back! I used the proceeds from sell the Chevelle to pick up an Acapulco blue '69 428CJ Mustang, with air! That was a really nice, comfortable car and those damn 428cj's ran way better than they had the right to! That car started my decades long forey on the dark side. I had several '69 & '70 mustangs, a couple more cobra jets, BOSS 302's, and one Boss 429 that I owned for 25 years.

I do like a 1970 Mustang and that’s the only year I would ever consider owning.
