USB Mode

Okay, first who hates the USB position in that center console. I do.

I don’t like the wire hanging out from the console lid. So I just drilled a few holes in the console and added a few rubber grommets. It hides the wires better, but depending on the size of your phone and where you place it. Myself I just rest the cellphone in the two cup holders. I wish GM would fix this and come up with a better location. Name: 4B65A8DC-4AF6-42F5-AEE5-09DFFF98CFEA.jpg

It's designed to come out from under the lid on the passenger side without getting pinched. More frustrating is the size/location of the wireless charger in my 2016.

Yeah Blackbeast, I hate the USB location too! It is a strange location for the USB ports and a pain to plug in the charger cord or a thumb drive!

I hate it AND my usb port is loose so it loses connection often. I found a replacement USB port online for $35 but haven't installed yet.

Wireless charging pad placement is definitely not ideal (I forget to pick up my phone every other time when getting out), but here's my partial fix: I trimmed the ridge off the short edges of the rubber mat, and now my phone is a perfect fit. Colors in the pic are a bit misleading, the trim line isn't light gray at all.

In the spirit of OP's mod, where there's a will...
