check out ebay too. I bought a dozen PF64's for $62- shipped free. I also bought a dozen Purulators for the Silverado a couple years ago for like $50 as I recall. I have enough filters at a bargain to last the life of any vehicle I own as I conduct my own oil changes.

I bought the PF64 at the local Wal-Mart along with the Dexos2 oil. I wouldn't use UPF64R. It's listed on ACDelco's website as a filter for 4 cylinder engines only.

Well. I was able to also buy the PF64 today too. LOL. I guess I’ll just use that one.

Thank you for your cooperation. END OF MESSAGE GM CUSTOMER CARE & AFTERSALES" Meh, I'd stick to the pf64. The P464r has a bypass rating of 35PSI to accommodate the high pressure in the small GDI engines, versus the 22PSI Pf64 engineered with the larger GDI (LT1) engines in mind. Attached to this post is a recent service bulletin which concerns the LT1 engines and PF64 filters. Hope it helps! *I am in no way an expert on oil filters. Just posting my amateur findings. Come to your own conclusions.*

Just like in this thread. The Wix isn’t the exact as the PF64

The PF64R, (35PSI) & The PF64, (22PSI) The LT1 engine calls for a filter with a 22PSI bypass valve. GM has clearly stated, that any filter bypass valve LESS THAN 22PSI is not adequate for the LT1 engines. But I couldn't find any information from GM about using a filter with a bypass valve GREATER THAN 22PSI in the LT1, but I'd guess it would be a no no... Please correct me if I'm wrong guys.

Had a long conversation with a parts manager about the 64R and after some research, we found where the 64R fits the LT1. I'm currently using it because it is constructed better than the standard 64. I'll be getting a UOA to keep an eye on wear.

One more thing: I’m surprised how small the oil filter is on the LT1

Had to go to dealer to get a PF64.
I went to NAPA, and the guy told me WIX made their filters. Asked him what the relief was set at, and he looked it up As 11-17psi. Plumb Auto didn't have the PS64 either. He confirmed the WIX as being 11-17psi as well. Dealer was right at $10, but at least I got a suitable filter. |

I just got my oil changed. Everything went great. The engine sounds quieter. And maybe it runs better. I used Mobil 1 and PF64
