I say get it fixed. Drop the car off at a body shop you like and tell the other guy's adjuster to go haggle with the shop.

get the repair and go after their insurance company for diminished value.

I did this when someone backed into my car. it was roughly 3 grand to fix (new bumper, fender, paint, etc). I got 3800 for diminished value as well from their insurance company (my car had less than 6k on the odo when it happened).

Just a suggestion...

Get 3 or more independent prices on the repair. Let’s assume the dealer is the highest price and the insurance company is the lowest. Once you have your 3 quotes in hand, talk to the adjuster and tell them that you want to be paid directly at x dollars (let’s assume $2300 for instance). If he refuses, tell them you’ll bring your car to the highest cost repair center (dealer).more than likely, the adjuster will give in. You’ll end up walking a way with a few more $. With the extra $, you can bring your car to a skilled detailer to clean a very good chunk of that damage.

I’ve used this method on low cost repairs multiple times. One time it didn’t work, I kept my promise and brought the car to highest cost repairer.

Fix. Otherwise, it will be on your mind every time you think of the car, let alone drive it.

That is 2-3k, Wow......
Nobodies fault but I just replaced my splitter, had th bottom portion of the fascia painted and had the flow tie painted for around 750. in my case it wasn't worth making a claim with a 500 ded and there won't be a record of front end damage on any carfax type sites.
In you case you gotta go after the guy who hit you and have his ins fix the car to original condition. I would have done this from the get go, he damaged it he needs to fix it.
Good Luck....

If it was a beater or used grocery getter I'd say pocket the cash, BUT these are nice cars. I would get it fixed.

The OP already has the insurance co involved so what will be will be with the Carfax.

I assume the driver at fault's insurance is paying the bill. So they offer 1/2 the cost of the repair in cash hoping you'll bite.

Have the car fixed right at the Chevy Dealer.

It seems I will need a new front lip, repainted bumper, new clearcoat, new side marker lamp, new stripes on the front bumper, and possibly new stripes on the hood because after fading from the sun they may not match the new bumper stripes. As you can all see, the damage is really not that bad... I have not fully paid the car off so the insurance money could help me pay some of it. Do you all think the insurance money is worth the price hit I will take due to the damage when selling?

If I get the car fixed now, they will continue to repair it until its perfect even if it exceeds their quoted $1571.90. If I take the money and get it repaired later and its over that price I would have to pay the difference.

The first estimate I got was from a local repair shop and they quoted about $2400. I then went to a chevy dealership and they quoted $3200. Finally when going through insurance they quoted me $1571.90. I could take the $1571.90 or get it repaired.
If you can live with it, take the money and run. When the car is 2 or 3 years older, the minor damage will be worth even less and will not affect the resale value of the car very much.

You may want to check your loan document. Some require you to repair accident damage just like they require you to have a certain level of insurance. That being said, I doubt any insurance company would take action on the level of damage your photos show.

Id take the cash, just painting the bumper wont match perfectly. They have to fade the surrounding areas. Fronts are prone to rock chips and damage so I wouldnt expect them to maintain a perfect looks if you daily the car.
