I love them both and to me they are both cool but to pull away from a light or merge onto the highway and hear my car shift 7 times is music to my ears

I use this advice for people on the fence about stick or auto:

You will find people who regret not buying the manual. You will never find anyone regret not buying the automatic.

Until you have a few drinks and none of your friends can drive a stick....or maybe you regret your friends at that point lol

No one drives my car other than me. That's one of the perks of owning a stick

In the short time I've had it I can't tell you how many times one of my friends said "man I'd love to drive it but I can't drive stick".

As if to assume I'd even let them drive it if it was an automatic to begin with

And no, I don't drink at all if I'm driving, my car or any car.

I prefer a manual trans in a sports car like the Camaro. But as I have said before it's a personal preference that ultimately the person that's buying the Camaro has to decide which is better for them!

I went in to order an A8 2SS last week. Wasn't sure whether to get magnetic ride control or not. The dealer had MRC in a manual, so I test drove the stick. The car I'm trading is a manual C6 vette with an MGW shifter, so I'm a big fan of the M6. The Camaro will be a DD with lots city driving.

If I were buying a 2SS manual, I would plan on changing out the shifter. Longer throw and not as tight and crisp as I've come to enjoy with the MGW.

The real eye opener was the Rev Match function. Couldn't believe how well it worked. Any moron could row a stick with Rev Match, which took a lot of the fun out of the manual for me. I know you don't have to use it, and I probably wouldn't use it, except to be amazed by it every now and then.

Driving a stick is like having sex without a condom. You get the real feeling. The real experience. "O" the Auto might be quicker, but you know what women think about men who are to Quick......lol

No it's not. Black is faster at the drag strip. Everyone knows that.

Ya I'm still confused about that whole thing.

Besides the manual being more "fun", engaging...It depends on the car imo. Some cars the auto is better/more reliable and some manuals are actually faster/better (some examples of "the one to get" from my experience):

Gen 5 camaro ss LS3 6m>L99/auto manual clearly faster

MK7 GTI/R DSG>6M manual weak, numb feeling clutch

Mustang GT 6R80>MT82 manual hard to drive smooth, notchy, less reliable with big power

Grand National only comes in auto and wouldn't have it any other way

79-93 fox 5.0 most agree manual was a must with the 5 speed being a lot faster

370Z A7>6M manual very hard to drive smootly, auto faster

Scatpack A8>6M one of the best ZF 8speed one of the best autos out there

Miata Manual is the only way to go here

Stingray or 2016-17 Camaro SS 8A and manual are both great choices. The SS 6M/clutch have a great feel with rev match, wot shifting, and enough power to pull through the long gears. Slight edge to the manual here in the fun dept, but not losing straight line perfomance going with the A8 as you did with the L99.

Also, it's not very fun if you don't know how to operate a manual properly.

BTW I am the save the manual die-hard manual type and chose the auto in my SS this time mainly because my daily commute is mostly traffic and there arent many fun back roads in my area.
The A8 is fun left in drive with enough power to thrill at wot but trying to drive like a manual with the paddles is meh.
I am moving in a couple years where there will be a much smaller commute and will likely be getting either a slightly used 7m stingray or 1le.

Optimal is to have auto for the workday commuter and manual for the weekend back road curvies/road course; both being performance oriented of course.

I don't see why some of you actually care about impressing people for having a manual lol. I mean really, who give a shit?!

Speaking of transmissions....

How can I make a dollar a day from the internet?

Okay additional details... I'm from India and earning just a dollar a day is okay with me... but hey... don't tell me to earn through HubPages, squidoo etc... no 'paid to click', 'paid to read' and 'get paid to' kinda stuff please! no internet marketing and affiliate programs as well... Paid surveys don't work either, atleast not in my part of the world... any genuine suggestions???

Just quoting the OP because I forgot what the question was.....

... and I just realized there wasn't really a question, just a poke in the eye then sit back and watch.....

Not always true...
Mustang forums have multiple threads with regretful MT-82 (manual) mustang owners.
