Currently what is a fair price for a used SS 1LE 19-22'?

Hello all, given the current market what would you all consider a fair price for a used SS 1LE. Lets say 2019-2022 under 10K miles. For reference KBB shows a fair market purchase price to be in the 45-48K range for the above car.

Reason I ask is finding a new one is like a unicorn in my area and the closest used one is approx 3-4 hours away in any direction. Just trying to get an idea on what you all feel a good fair price would be or do you feel that KBB is above what the actual fair price is for the SS 1LE.

I've saw a few in the 55K range that is crazy IMHO, as I am under the impression these were selling for a touch over 40K back in 2019.

Any insight you can provide is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Some of the prices these dealers are asking is 100% absurd.

When I was looking while waiting for an allocation(end of 2020 through 2021) the pre-owned prices kept climbing. Eventually I gave up on used Camaros altogether. I bought a brand new 22 2SS 1LE for less than some dealers were asking for 1 and 2 year old 1SS 1LEs with 5-10k miles on them. I actually drove a few hours and paid a bit less than MSRP for mine. Well worth the time and effort. I wouldn't enjoy the car as much if I felt like I paid way too much for it. Every time I drove it, it would be in the back of my mind. I couldn't imaging paying several thousand more than original MSRP for a used car. Vehicles are already bad investments as is, no sense making it worse.

My advise to anyone looking would be patient, but vigilant. Check the Chevy site and any decent dealer sites every couple days and be ready to strike.

I found my car on the Chevy site basically as soon as it was listed. I emailed the dealer the same day it was posted to check availability. It was available, and priced to move. Combined with the GM financing it was a no-brainer. After the sale I found out from the salesman that I beat out another guy by about a half an hour with my deposit. I was lucky to find an honest dealer and a great deal. They are few and far between but if people are patient and stop paying these crazy prices the market will gradually even out. Those that paid too much will have tossed away thousands of dollars.

I wouldn't touch a 2019 SS, can't stand the front end. Honestly, in a normal market a 2020 1SS 1LE would possibly be a $42-44k car or something like that. These days there is no such thing as a "fair price", lol.

1SS or 2SS? I think 2019 are cheaper because they're less desirable with that ugly front end.

Thanks for the replies probably more so 1SS than 2SS at this point. I agree 19’s ugliness probably has something to do with being cheaper lol.

Thanks again

I think your 45k is pretty accurate then, for low miles.
If you can find one. That's close to MSRP so that's why I'm ordering new. Just gotta wait which sucks.

Used car prices are insane. And dealers are asking over MSRP on new, that is if they can even get any new cars to sell. I bought my 2018 1SS 1LE new at end of 2018. After hours of negotiation I paid 40k for it new (sticker was 45k). Fast forward 4 years and 15k miles later and I am fairly certain I could sell it for more than I paid now. Best you can hope for now is to pay MSRP on anything new. I'd stay away from used since people are asking new car prices for used.

Best advice I got is to wait if you can. Though to be honest I am thinking it's gonna be a year or two before we see any sort of normalization. I also don't think it will ever go back to how it was before with thousands of $ in rebates and incentives.

Just find a reputable dealer and order brand new. Waiting is worth it. I don’t think you are going to find a reasonable price for these cars in the used market right now. By the way, not all 2019 models are ugly. If you can find a black one with a good price on it go for it.

Thanks for the replies. I will try to explore the new market further to see what I can turn up. Using the Chevrolet dealer feature as mentioned above has turned up a few new leads. Hopefully, I can get one lined up or maybe catch one on the lot.

Thanks again for the replies.

I paid $45k last year for a very well maintained 2018 1SS 1LE with 6k miles and some upgrades. I know that's about 5-6k higher than it should be, but I did not want to miss out on 2021 track season. It was hard to find, I called the dealer on a number of cars, and they were gone already. If you can get similar price it will be par for the course. Ended up flying to D.C. to buy the car, and then driving home.

I just got my 2020 1SS 1LE with 7,000 miles for $45k a month ago. It was the best price I could find in the US.

The prices are all over the place. The norm is definitely high, however, you can find deals, if you are willing to wait and constantly search. The deals get grabbed fast.

In January I bought a 1 owner 2018 2SS 1LE with only 2,500 miles for 44k. This IMO was the best deal I saw in the year I was looking. I got lucky enough to find it within a few hours of it being posted. Paid $1400 to have it shipped. Still think it was by far the best deal even with the shipping cost.

The car was from Ontario, which I think explains the low mileage. I get a feeling the owner was either smart or outright scared to not drive those tires in cold weather.

Normally i would have said 39 to 44 grand. Currently 45 to 50 grand. I wanted to see what my car was worth the other they and got a quote from Carvana. Less than 300 miles odo 22 2ss 1le manual with nav they offered me 48 grand and they sell a 21 2ss close to 10000 miles for 56 grand on their website. So do not go to Carvana.

For reference, I bought my 2019 1LE with 800 miles on it for 37,500 in June of 2020...so you are spont on with your assessment. The market is absolutely nuts right now. If I was looking, I would just go new or try and find someone on this forum that isn't gouging/in line with current market.

The 2019 front end is my favorite. I have summit white so maybe that has something to do with it. The warranty is coming up and I am thinking about an extended....I love this car! Buy one!

I have always wanted to buy a car on the opposite coast and drive it back. If you find a great deal used/new I think that would be a hoot to fly out and drive back.....
