The nuts start spinning inside the bumper cover making it almost impossible to get them out without cutting. It’s hit or miss with all 5th gens it seems like.

After installing the supercharger I did not re install the two top bolts and have not had any problems with the bumper sagging or anything.

Mine is a 2010 also. I've had mine off about 3 times before also. This last weekend was the first time it gave me the problem. Ill attack it when it warms up a bit

Well, basically 2 years later I finally got around to doing this (in order to install my bigger heat exchanger) and following the instructions of a few others in this thread and cut the top bolts.
Top bolts on both sides needed cutting. What a pain in the ass.
Nothing like using power tools cutting bolts to take the bumper off..

Anyway, success! Got it off. Leaving those top bolts out forever.
Upgraded the heat exchanger. All is well.
