Just Skinned My Lid

I purchased a stock air intake box from a member several months ago. I sent the lid to a company in PA to have it skinned in carbon fiber. Got it back yesterday and the results are very impressive. It's not a cheap process. However, it does offer an alternative to anyone who wants the carbon fiber look without having to purchase one of the third party intakes.

With what do you clean your engine bay? That looks nice and really black.

Your engine bay looks immaculate. Cleaning my engine bay is my weakness, it's easily the dirtiest part of my car. As a daily I find it hard to keep the water spots from coming back. What do you use for cleaning and drying everything?

Coil covers look good. Powder coated? Where'd you get the decals?

The lid I had custom painted by RPI Designs. Caught it on their Black Friday sale last year.

The coil covers were airbrushed by Showstopper Accessories (http://showstopperaccessories.com/pr...il-Covers.html). They custom paint a lot of coil covers for the Z06. I bought a second set of covers from thatgmpartsguy.com and sent them to Showstoppers for painting.

I just wipe down the engine bay with a microfiber towel as part of my car washing process. About twice a year I apply 303 Aerospace Protectant to the rubber hoses and plastic parts to clean and protect. Great stuff!

$399 plus shipping costs.

When you consider they cut off all the ribbing around the perimeter of the lid plus smoothed the top, it's not an unreasonable price.
