why no C8 Zo6 nurburgring time?

I am searching for the c8 zo6 nurburgring time....I can not find an official time? That could only mean one thing....it is not as fast as they hoped. The C8 z51 did a 7:29. My guess is the zo6 did not break 7 (probably did a 7:10 or so) and they are keeping it quiet. Considering the Zl1 1le did a 7:16 and according to Al O....could easily get around a 7 flat with some tweaks, perhaps they are a bit embarrassed with the results? Anyone have any info on that? I like to give my Corvette buddies grief at the track...by beating them in person and by beating them on paper!

If I remember, there was no official Nurburgring time for the C7 Z06. Some third parties published times but there was nothing official from the Corvette team.

There was a lot of discussion on the Corvette forums about the lack of an official ring time. I suspect the Corvette team doesn't have a whole lot of incentive to publish a time. What other two seat sports cars compete with the Corvette at that price point? The Camaro, on the other hand, has the Mustang and Challenger in it's class. This gives it a lot more reason to want to chest thump.

That could be true too.

Someone will do it sooner or later. No need to fly a car there, pay for track time, and pay for all that 98+ petrol. Auto Motor Sport will do it for you sooner or later.

They haven't even released pricing, let alone metrics for specific tracks. I think we are still a bit of a ways out before that happens and if anything, it may only happen in the hands of the aftermarket. Sort of like how Jim Mero knocked out a 7:10 in the C7 Z06.

Although he believes that the C8 Z06 can possibly have a sub-7 minute time.

Speculation withstanding, of course. But you're also talking about Jim Mero, here.

Here's the Corvette garage at the Nurumburgring. I don't think cost is an issue. Whatever the Corvette teams wants, the Corvette team gets.

C8Z will easily be under 7 min, no Camaro is going to come close imo...

Did anybody ever compare the ZL1 1LE auto vs manual?
I'm curious how that one turns out.
