Some forget that this is not just "Oh, V8 was my choice so I don't complain" - it impacts cost of EVERYTHING. Whatever comes to you on wheels, at least partially/indirectly will cost more.

It's not like we figured out alternative ways of communication/transport (no, few Teslas and two Bolts is not being done) to try switch people to EV or horse riding...

$6.76 for 91 Octane, that was on Thursday, it’s probably higher today! You gotta pay to play. Simple as that. To those complaining, get a Prius, then move to their forum.

I got several posts deleted already for much less political content than what this would require. China, 2020, Russia, money supply, insane government spending, inflation, EV agenda etc., I don't think there is a single "high level" cause.

Also, I'm just an ordinary guy, and access to reliable information that is not skewed by political agendas is an actual and increasingly serious problem these days, so I obviously couldn't present bulletproof arguments no matter what, if that's what you're after.

So is that as much sophistication as you're willing to show? Gotta pay to play... until when, $10, $50, $100 a gallon or more, and everyone "complaining" should get GTFO?

Pretty much the governing philosophy. Do what you’re told, be happy with what you’re allowed to keep, pay your taxes and stfu.

We had 99c for regular not that long time ago... It was somewhere around a time when... "demand was lower".
I mean it was lower, because of ... stuff in the air, and now it's back to normal, which means it's 3x more expensive than before normal. Yeah, nothing to complain.

I am from Poland (born, leaving in USA since 2016), and I was always intrigued about the fact that USA has 6x cheaper gas than poles (2x actual value, and 3x pay/wage difference). No more - ratio is slightly changing, positively to PL

Does this mean we will have more negotiating power with the dealers?

"You gotta take off this mark up, gas prices are a killer!"
"Ok, bye."

Fact 1: Oil and gasoline prices are up globally, not just in America
Fact 2. The US cannot unilaterally lower the the price of gasoline...it's a globally traded commodity

A lot of people in this country consume almost exclusively political news. Also it seems to be a thing to have no real identity other than one's political views.

Hungarian-American here. I bet the Polish government taxes the heck out of that gas, just like Hungary (although now the government artificially capped gas prices for citizens temporarily), the market price there is $8.40-$8.50 a gallon with taxes, and that doesn't even factor in the living wage difference.

We both know that Europe is a different animal altogether. Small countries, short distances, better public transport, all contributing to the fact that cars aren't indispensable for a "normal" lifestyle over there. Heck, I didn't even have a license there for decades.
