Yea, it will be cool to see how they look when we take them out. I do drive my Camaro pretty hard since the cam swap with LOTS of WOT pulls!! It is just so much fun especially with the big converter. I have plenty of places around for all that. lol. Stay tuned..

Acammer, if you were running titanium retainers, how did those look after 20k? I know people harp about how much they wear and to not reuse them when swapping springs because the springs bite into them but I'm curious of the actual wear.

I know you were asking acammer, but I too am running the Titanium retainers on my springs with 25k on them when we re-freshed the springs, and they were fine.. We reused them and the locks..

It's a good question - as I've seen both where they are totally fine, and others that are majorly chewed up. Unfortunately, I didn't pull the springs off the heads, as they weren't going back on the car, and we sent them on down to the machine shop to be used as cores for our porting program. In hindsight, I wish I had snatched off a couple springs to check them for pressure, and look at the retainers. I had tool-steel (gasp!!!!) retainers anyways, so I'll bet they were just fine.

For what it’s worth, mine were fine even with the abuse and twice the mileage.

Any weighing facts on if brand was a factor of the retainers being chewed up vs not? Its time for me to replace my valvesprings so I'm shopping around. I bought the car with the springs and cam already in it and since the cam is a TSP, I'm guessing the springs are from them which are made by PAC. They have a little more open pressure and a lot more coil clearance than the BTRs so I'm weighing on those two.

I think, given your manifold, you should be looking at more spring so you can run some more rpm. I don't remember if you swapped to LS3 hollow stem valves, but if not, even more spring pressure would be warranted to keep those heavier L99 valves under control. A PSI 1513 would let you shift up around 7600 reliably...

You might have me confused with someone. I'm all stock LS3 except for cam. I shift at 7200rpm. Factory lifters, LS3 valves, stock intake, etc. I think I'm just going to go with the BTR springs. They are a bit cheaper since I have your guys' military discount. The F-35 cam is similar to the SS4 and its my understanding you guys usually run the BTRs with the SS4. The .660" PAC springs TSP offers for their kits have like 20lbs more on open and a lot more coil bind clearance which may or may not be a good thing due to spring surge.

I totally thought I was responding to 1JEWLDSS - oops. Yea if you've got the factory manifold BTR660s will be just fine. My bad, too many conversations going at once!

I just bought the springs. I made sure to put that you were the consultant. Thanks

I got some pictures of the CHE trunnions at 20k. Hopefully I can get those uploaded tonight, but long story short, they look great. They'll easily go another 20k, and probably much more beyond that.
