There is no advance step needed to engage NLS. It works by rpm and throttle position. If you have your foot to the floor (and don't lift at all which is hard for me to do because of 40 years of right foot muscle memory during a shift) and the rpms are above 6200 rpm for a regular SS and I believe above 5000 rpm for 1LE and ZL1 then NLS will work.

Note: Don't hold me to those rpm targets as I am going off memory. When I try it which is rare because my right foot just wants to twitch - I always shift right below redline - 6400-6500 rpm.

Do the LT1 have the NLS feature too?

NLS enable rpm thresholds are more permissive, check this post from Al Oppenheiser for a detailed description: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...61&postcount=1 . The software enables NLS above these thresholds, if you press the clutch, it will hold rpms at the target until you complete the shift. Not sure if there is a time limit for doing so, but I doubt people want to test that out on their own transmissions

Thank you!

I knew there was a chart out there somewhere and as you can see my memory is faulty. I forgot there was an enable rpm and a target rpm.

As the chart shows the NLS feature is available across model lines regardless of engine type.

I would believe that those with the LT1 model have the feature too.

That's good to know. Thanks.

I assume the target rpm for the LTG should be 5400?

That's pretty good. I sometimes lift by mistake out of habit.
