Just to clarify - how I ended up in this pickle is that I was having a conversation with my boss (I work for a large industrial distributor) and we were talking about 3D printing, I told him I had wanted to own one as I had some ideas for stuff I wanted to make for myself.

This led to a conversation "well the company has a department now that has some machines, you can email them a model and they can print stuff for customers - you could have them do it"

So I did - they charged me a design charge ($50) to get the initial red part made, but printed it for nothing and sent it to me. Once I approved it, they told me there would be a $200 minimum order. I didn't really want to go backwards being it was a work thing - up until the point in which I found out they were struggling to make good parts. Once I dug further, I found out the department was just jobbing them out to other companies *rolling my eyes*

I just went all in and bought a good printer (not a low end one - this is a all enclosed, heated chamber, high temp extruder, etc....) so I plan on doing a lot more parts on my own in the future. I will have the ability to make glass-filled nylon and carbon fiber prints.

Sorry everyone - have been working with the machine manufacturer to get the parts dialed in. I am running what should be the last test part right now.

I do have several that have some blemishes on the outside perimeter that would never be seen once mounted if someone is needing one ASAP. I just want to have trying to make them look as good as possible

I actually acquired a different high temp material today that has a matte finish, looks very similar to the factory plastic. On the last leg of its first print with it, but material looks very good

I have a couple that I haver shipped with no complaints so I assume they are working fine. I have probably 6-7 printed in the glossier material. The matte material ones - I believe the material I purchased was old shelf stock and it is stringy. They look good once the gage is in, but the inside of the pod has some imperfections. Like I said, can't see it once the gauge is in, but its still there.

I plan on ordering more of the HTPLA material that is "fresh" - just would want some demand as the material is 8x the cost vs the PETG that the shiny ones are made of
