Texas speed drop in combo?

Anybody using Texas speed /JE piston drop in combo? Looks like the only thing readily available for drop-ins.

Check with GPI. I just picked up some pistons from them. I can't speak for the availability of the rods.
I already have those so I didn't bother to check.

That being said, if the Texas Speed combo is available, and competitively priced, there's no reason not to go with them.

GPI is backordered.

TSP in stock.

Vengeance racing doesn't specify.

If you plan on running 93 get the 10.5:1 compression pistons.

If you are going to run E then stock compression is fine but I believe only GPI offers that. Most other drop in kits lower compression. Contact TSP to verify...not sure why it's not mentioned.

Texas speed says -6 piston. They do offer a Carrillo piston/rod combo that drops it to 10.5. definitely running e-85. Doing JRE cam set up while it's out, just making sure I get correct piston/rod combo

+1 for King's comment. Talked to GPI on Monday they said rods are in fact backordered and no clue when they will show. I don't like the rods from TSP as they don't show to be rated high enough for me. Waiting it out.

The rods from TSP are pretty similar to the GPI versions so I wouldn't hesitate to run them. Now if you're shooting for 1000 or close to it I'd just do a custom setup and pick a stronger rod than both of those listed.

Any recommendations for a engine builder in Michigan? Called a couple places and they want to use all their own parts before they will put their name on it,I could put it together myself but would feel better having someone assemble it for me and I will just reinstall the motor myself.

Yeah I was just going by what LME and Strictly list those rods as good for in their LT builds 11-1200 whp. I didn't think TSP's were that stout. If they are then hell yeah

Yeah they all have different opinions on them. If I remember correctly GPI were comfortable with the compstars up to 900-1000.
