Need advice on tires

My 2019 camaro rs came with stock 20 inch run flat good year tires right now every winter I put on 19 inch rims with blizzak winter tires. I just checked the stock good years and the tread depth is at 3/32 so I'm not going to pass inspection with these tires. Have it down to two the michelin all season pilot sport s4 or the extremecontract dsw 06 plus how many camaro owners out there are using either of these tires?

They’re about equal, get the cheaper one.

The Continentals are real good tires for the money. I had the Extreme Contact Sport tires on my 2016 2SS and never had any issues. Of course you are looking at the Conti ECS DWS tires which are very good too.

I've go the Continential DWS06+'s on my 2017 2SS right now. Excellent tire. Much quieter and better ride than the Goodyear run-flats. Excellent wet and dry traction. Do pretty good in a couple of inches of snow too.

I have read lots of good things about the Michelins as well.

You can't really go wrong with either.

Do you really, really need all-seasons when you already have a separate set of Blizzaks for winter? I would strongly recommend you consider the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and Conti ExtremeContact Sport instead. These are called "summer" tires, but they are truly "three-season" tires. They will have far more grip and response than the all-seasons in the dry, of course. But where they really, really shine is in the wet and cool weather. Both of the "summer" tires have loads more grip on cool wet pavement than the all-seasons! That's hard to believe, I know, but it's true. There is a great test that gives clear proof of this with the Contis: just look at the difference in track times on the wet road course! The Michelins are the same. These are the tires that autocrossers use as "rain" tires. They are that good. They will also be fine down to freezing or a little bit below. The only conditions where the all-seasons are actually better are truly cold weather (like 20F and below) and ice/snow, but you have Blizzaks for that.

I think you should look at the PS4S and EC Sport. If they both come in your size, the Conti is cheaper and just as good.

In PA? Probably. Depending on where you are, the weather can get freaky in the shoulder seasons. Never fails the week after you swap tires you get the opposite weather. Cold+wet is no freind of summer tires, and in some parts of PA that can easily happen in May and October.

+1

I run Michelin PS4S summer tires and they're perfectly usable all the way down to 38-40 degrees, I'm almost sure the Contis are similar, so there's no need for the all-season compromise if you have a winter set as well.

Obviously you can't go totally crazy with the skinny pedal in cold weather, but you have an RS, so these tires will be perfectly safe if you drive reasonably. Wet pavement performance with the PS4S is unreal, it feels almost as good as dry (which it isn't if you look at the numbers, of course, but the car is rock stable). IMO their only downside for your use case is the cost, these suckers are pretty expensive, the Contis are likely cheaper.

Thanks for all the advice and yes living in western Pennsylvania the weather here can be tricky. We have seen a few snow storms as late as April and as early as early as October but not often and i have been caught off guard only once in April with summer tires on. The problem with the good year f1 run flats you can feel every crack in the road and when the temperature drops to freezing the ride is even harsher that's the one big thing I noticed when the blizzak tires are on softer tires and the ride is so much better. I am considering the michelin tires.

I have the Conti DWS06 on my Cruze and they are a great rain tire while having decent handling and grip in the dry. Since you have Blizzaks I would recommend summers for the main wheels, but if you’re concerned about freak snowstorms the Contis will get the job done.

Personally, I chose the BFGOODRICH G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S PLUS, they gripped awesome in dry (better than the stock Goodyear Summer RoF) and blasted through water. I never had them in any snow.

YES, on my 2020 2SS.

I have run the Conti's and am now running the MPS4S's. Both excellent tires!! Can't go wrong either way.

Can't go wrong with either. Get whichever of the 2 is a better price. Just make sure they aren't too old.

I switched to the Nitto 555g2s and took off the Goodyear Eagle run flats with just 380 miles on them. Not a fan of the run flats at all. I like the tread design on the G2s, had them on my 2016 SS.
