I think people not realizing how great/special the Z28 is. To me, it's up there with GT3RS/Integra Type R (DC5)/2.7RS/M3CSL/CobraR/MclarenF1 and other track focused limited production/homologation special cars.

For $40-45K you can buy a used 6th Gen SS 1LE and it's faster around a track than the Z28.

The Z28 was a limited production car but it was quickly made obsolete by the 6th gen SS 1LE

No it isn't....they are a drivers race though if going stock for stock. The most noted "win" by a SS 1LE was by .04 seconds (the laguna seca run; and they weren't racing each other, and it wasn't even on the same day). The Z/28 beat the SS 1LE on multiple other tracks by as much as 4 seconds, and the SS 1LE had some even better time wins at other tracks as well, but even those wins are VERY miniscule (0.11 seconds faster at willow springs for example).

So, to say its faster isn't actually true...but it is a drivers race for sure. 1 missed shift could make the difference between a win or loss....same applies to that '13 ZL1 in a straight line run vs the Z/28

2.5k recently sold for 59k on BaT. Prices are climbing slowly so better grab one now if you are still in the hunt.

GT350R on C&Bs bid at 60k with 6days to go for comparison.

I know "All glory is fleeting..." but got to appreciate it was the most track focused Camaro ever at the time. They did not have to make it and probably lost money too.

Love this thing
Just caught your YouTube videos and recognized the Z . I concur...love the driving dynamics of a focused track car regardless of car type. Just happens it's a muscle Camaro. Coming from ITR/M/AMG/Evo...

I agree that the market is sleeping on them.

I estimate that 30% of the cars produced are either totalled or have a carfax accident reported.

This car feels as special as my GT3.
Congratulations 🍾 beautiful ride

Nice Z. What kind of Rims are those? And what are the sizes?

I'm looking to possibly get some aftermarket rims soon too. Maybe 20" instead factory 19".

Are you sure about that? Wasn't that just one lap? The Z28 beat the 2016 SS 1le at VIR in another test. Also the SS brakes would probably fade after a few laps in contrast to the Z.

Z/28 is probably the slightly faster car on most tracks. Speculatively a 7:30 or less time at the N-ring which puts in elite company. The official time has the car hitting some heavy rain in the last 1 min or so the track and they clocked a 7:37 I think (official).

Without rain, could be around 7:17 or lower!

The 6th gen SS 1LE is a much softer car in comparison to the Z/28. It's like comparing a 997 GT3 against a 991 Carrera 2. The 991 is technically faster, but the 997 provides a different, more "pure" driving experience. That doesn't make the 997 "obsolete."

Likewise the Z/28 didn't become obsolete when the SS 1LE came out - it just became rarer.
