Radio Doesn't Shut Off

I have a 2020 LT and recently when I shut the car off the radio doesn't shut down when I open the door. I was ready to call the dealer and make an appointment but of course - it doesn't happen every time. I'm thinking a reflash will correct the issue. Thought I run it past all Ya'll (I live down South) to see if anyone else has experienced this issue.

I'd try and reset the radio to factory defaults, or disconnect the battery to the car overnight and let sit.

Is it waiting on an update? Mine seriously pisses off, message comes up too late so I don't notice it and already shutting the car off or whatever. then it goes away until it comes back at some point. It's annoying.

My 2020 LT1 does/did that on random occasions when I first got it (about 6 months.) It seems to have autocorrected.

From what I heard, the new 2019+ platform does this whenever it detects an update, it is probably attempting to install it. This also explains how the issue "autocorrects" itself.

That is correct, a quick search here on the forums will yield great results. Your vehicle it trying to do an update, mine did the same thing for almost a week before I finally parked it on it’s battery tender and it had a chance to install the new update. It’ll eventually correct itself, once the update has completed and finished. Generally you don’t want to leave your wifi area if you get an update on any car before it’s completed.

You don't have to wait for an update. Go through the Infotainment screen and initiate the update.

Perhaps. I noticed the other day that it wanted to update, but I ignored it because I was rolling and didn't want to pull over and wait.

No issue with the radio though.

There isn't really an "issue" with the radio, per se. When there's a software update that's pending, the radio will remain on after you exit the car (it should turn off when you open the driver's door if the car is off). Even locking the doors will leave the radio playing...

Once the update is applied, this unexpected behavior by the radio stops and goes back to correctly turning off when you open the driver's door after shutting the engine off.

Thanks to Callaway SC360 and embert 1205, there was an update waiting to downloaded. The youtube link embert 1205 included made the process very easy.

Thanks!

While this hasn't been an issue with my Camaro (I have only had it a week), it has been an intermittent problem with my '19 Equinox with the same infotainment system along with a few other annoyances (such as no response whatever occasionally from the power button for 20 to 30 seconds after starting).

I can guarantee you that, with the Equinox anyway, there is no correlation with software updates and the intermittent occurrence of these phenomenon.

It has been my hope that the 2022 version of this system will be less "buggy" than older versions.
