Tire carrier - how to protect wheels?

Picking up an ATC trailer with tire carrier attachment. Interested in any thoughts about perhaps wrapping the metal bar that goes through wheels so they aren’t damaged in transit? Thanks

That's an awesome trailer. I'm thinking 4 wheels w/ tires would stand up pretty tight and not move too much. Maybe tape some microfiber towels on where the wheels are.

Is there a way to use some ratchet straps to hold the tires down? The bar looks like you cant wrap it because of the groove it slides in, or does it have enough room to wrap it and slide it threw? What about using like a pool noodle or foam insulation tape?

See if PVC pipe will fit over the bar AND fits inside hub of the wheels.

Overwise, remote bar, install "hood" over the rack with Jeep hood type hold downs or similar latching mechanism. Few pluses, no need to feed bar through center.. downside, OD of tires need to be fairly similar to make up space with some pool noodles or similar.

Thats a good idea or use a rubber hose as a sleeve.

nice trailer...it appears you can use a ratchet strap up and over each tire to hold an individual tire in place or use a single ratchet strap through the centers of the wheels to hold the grouping far left or far right. You don't need to worry about any foam padding or pool noodle stuff. The center bar is loosely there and only a fail safe.
