I’m glad ppl are showing different ways of doing something. I’d like to do an upper pulley as well but also leaning to port the blower. Heating the pulley completely makes sense. I am reluctant to cut off the original pulley but that more of a lack of experience thing than a “it won’t work.” Great write up tho

I actually like your method for removing/installing the pulley. About the only negative is destroying the stock pulley, but that really isn’t a huge deal. I remember seeing a griptec pulley in the stock size (or very close), so if you ever wanted to go back to stock boost levels, it shouldn’t be an issue.

I was going to do a lower — but if I can get an upper on without taking the blower apart, I just may do that. I’d probably rather use a proper puller for removal, but those tools aren’t cheap.

It is a tight fit. The shaft measures .664 in diameter and the pulley measure the same .664 so there is no clearance.

I hope this helps!
Great Info for sure, Any chance of a pic of the cut pulley?

What did you do when you installed the new hub? Did you just slide it on until it stopped? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that you are supposed to measure when pressing the pulley hub on the traditional way.

I would be lying if I said I did everything like your suppose to but I pretty much just heated up the pulley hub adapter and slid it on and got lucky it was in the right place. It was roughly about 1/8'' from the bearing which turned out to be just right. The supercharger shaft doesn't stick out with the grip tech adapter like the factory one so don't base it on that.

Is there a bolt on the end of the pulley and the shaft is threaded?

No there is no bolt in the end and it isn't threaded. It only has a centering hole so you can pull on it without the puller walking.

Did you ever get a tune or datalog to see if it was going lean and needed MAF adjusting?

I did datalog and couldn't see any lean conditions so I'm still running the stock tune. I still think the factory tune is on the rich side but at least it isn't going lean. I still have the factory air box and exhaust so it might not be as affected as if you made more mods.

I know it doesn't make much difference but if I set the 1/4 mile timer I can get 11.0-11.2 on a straight roadway which is better than it was before. The 0-60 is still slow at 3.7 because of wheel spin.

But you do feel the added power with the new pulley?
