754whp and 774wtq on 93 and meth

Got the ZL1 back from Advanced Modern Performance last week after adding the meth and it is running pretty strong. I did make the mistake of dropping it off with a full tank of 93 so we didn't run with e85 after adding the meth, but Sam said to expect around another 30whph and 30wtq running e50.

So current mods are:


Tony Mamo throttle body
Roto-Fab CAI
ARH 2" primary ceramic coated headers/long system
ATI damper
Lingenfelter 18% lower pulley
New belt
Texas-Speed head/cam package
Ported LT4 heads
PAC .660 springs w/Ti retainers
VVT-1 Cam: 227/231, .635"/.635", 116 LSA +32% lobe
Upgraded trunion kit
7.850 pushrods
Comp Cams phase kit
ARP head studs
DSX Tuning e85 flex fuel kit
DSX low side fuel system
Alky Control dual nozzle system with stainless lines
NGK (6510) LTR7IX-11 Spark Plug

I don't really know if I will do any more to the engine other than go catless as Sam said melting the cats is a when, not if. But it runs pretty hard right now while still being tractable so it is working out well.

Can that same setup be run without the Meth? I was thinking similar setup, but just 93. Any idea what gains from the heads? I'm on the border on those. My goals are slightly less of ~700rwhp

If you check out my build thread I have his mods minus head work, no meth, but I do have a low side fuel kit. Same as him.

My car made 670ish and 725trq on just 93 no meth in the texas heat

I actually made close to his pump gas numbers with no meth on my e85 only tune so I know it’s killer to drive!

Yes, was at 710whp prior to meth but power was dropping pretty fast past 6,000rpm. Now on e50 and meth I should be around 780whp or so... pretty good pickup.

Yeah, was one of these freak 85 degree days in Dallas when they tuned mine too! Will be very strong when cooler..

Thanks for the replies. I guess when it comes time to do the mods, i can see what the price difference with or without doing the heads will be and decide then. I am trying to stay away from e85 at this point as there is only 1 station in my area that carries it and has been that way for years.

So, on 93 it looks like you picked up ~40rwhp adding the heads compared to Sinester17

is that boost reading right? my car only makes like 13.5 psi with that pulley on 2" uncatted ARH headers. Sick numbers man i bet its an absolute handful

Mine made 670/635 with MS109 and single 1000cc nozzle. I've got a Maggie and no other mods internally with stock exhaust. Mine is wicked and went 10.33@135, another 80 plus hp is gonna be really wicked. Mike from Magnuson made 736 and went 9.92@139 so your in that ball park for 1/4 mile time slips. Congrats on those killer numbers so get it to the track and have some fun.

I wondered about that too, only pulley on it is the Lingenfelter 9.55" so it seemed a bit high? But IAT's are good and she runs pretty hard. Anything under a 70mph punch can get a little sketchy lol
