Motortrend C8 vs Gt500

https://www.motortrend.com/news/chev...ck-comparison/

Still no laptimes, but base gt500 is comparable to C8 and gt500 CFTP destroys them both

Sub 2:00 is good at the VIR full.

For sure, I'm trying to find where I thought I read the CFTP was even 5 seconds faster than the base there. So many pieces of info, lol!

ACR has a recorded 1:57, and I've seen ZLEs on YouTube get below 2:00, 1:58s. The gt500 base 1:59 is good.

CFP is 5s faster than base car, but why no lap times reported?

I know Ford said they aren't playing the lap time game, but why aren't they allowing the magazines to post times? For $100K, I need to know how the car compares to others before I buy the CFP car.

Mustang fans: many of us track guys would LOVE to switch to the GT500, we just have know it's worth the money.
MT isn't letting me link the article

But if the MT article is correct and the CFTP is 5 seconds faster that means a 1:54 lap for the CFTP

Faster than an ACR would be enough for me to trade in in a few years, but not before I see the C8Z times and price.

Yea 1:54/55 would be pretty spectacular. I know the cftp will be fine anywhere but I'd like to see the base run in a less straight heavy course, maybe at the lightning lap when they run the VIR Grand.

Lightning lap should help normalize the comparisons for sure

For sure. I suppose we'll have the z07 and non z07 times and prices to compare as usual.

Or even better Randy Pobst Laguna Seca times so we can make sure someone who's not scared is behind the wheel. Look at the zr1s lightning lap run vs Jim Meros for example.

Gt500 cftp ran a 1:56.30

Beat the ACR.

Great time, but before all the mustang guys declare how amazing that is it's not even close to the 1:51 the zr1 ran. It also took a lot of development time, 120 more hp and a dct to beat the ACR.
