The Time Has Come to trade in My 2018

After careful deliberation for a few weeks it was time to let go of my 2018 V6 Hyper blue. I've been thinking about GM's bad decision to end full sized V6 cars like the LeCrosse and Impala. I could never go LeCrosse due to the silly start/stop engine, so I looked into Impala.

The Impala was given a stay of execution with the full sized Caddy till Jan 2020.
I was thinking of ordering one just the way I wanted but, dealer network had one. Pepperdust with light seats & trim, tech, leather, convenience and rear safety package.

The deal was done.

Reasons to let the camaro go at 4,000 miles:

Black wheels, afraid mechanics would chip & scratch.
Too short headliner, passenger door and over windshield
Paint defects, white undercoat popping thru blue metallic
Lack of storage and the ridiculous console lid & shallow console.
And cleaning it 2 times a week in dusty Phx

After loving my 2013 V6 Vert I thought I could never love a 6th Gen. Boy was I wrong! The 2016 to 2018 were a marvel to look at, so sharp and edgy. A solid design that would last 10 yrs as fresh.

Here's a few shots of the cars side by side & one of me on driveway after taking delivery.

The Impala has a Camaro vibe to front end, I think in the headlights and the curve down in the front bumper.

I give it 12 months... max. You'll be wishing you had the Camaro

The impala is obviously a much different car, but solid nonetheless. Good luck!

Not really a fan of the Impala, the current models looked already kind of dated at the reveal. I hope you got a great deal since sales numbers of the Impala dropped by an insane amount in the last years

Interesting reasons for letting go of the Camaro and into an Impala. I thought I remember reading that start/stop technology became standard in 2015 on Impala?

18 Equinox has it.....

Once u get used to it, you can pretty much get around it easily. I still hate Obamastop either way.

Sorry I like your Camaro way better but you have to do what you need to do......I love the black wheels on yours. I have silver wheels on mine and have been looking 4 months now locally for someone to sell their black wheels as they don't like them for whatever reason. No luck so far.

Cheaper to replace wheels on camaro than all lost equity. Enjoy the 4 door rental car

Easier to get in-out i bet.

OP I traded in my Mustang for a S60 Volvo(with Polestar). Well it turns out my 2017 S60 was a total POS and I traded it in for a Camaro. In the end I'm glad I got the camaro, but I took a loss in equity, twice. A Camaro(or most sports cars) feels like a special car, in a sea of boring coupes and sedans.
In the end you have to do what you feel is best for you.....good luck with the new toy

you cant compare the 2 cars. you're comparing the head room and space etc of an impala to a sports car. that just make zero sense. you should have never gotten in a
Camaro or a sports car in the first place.
