So M/T is saying the 8 speed automatic is going into the 2015 Corvette, when previously it was reported that it was not.

Can you confirm anything on that? The Corvette is already a beast in the 1/4 mile with the 6 speed.....the 8 speed should only make it faster especially since they claim under WOT it shifts as fast as some of the best supercars.

5% improvement ... so probably a bonna fide 30 mpg hyw according to the EPA then?

Yep. That also bumps Corvette in Eco Mode to roughly 31.5 MPG.

I know people don't buy Corvettes explicitly for the fuel economy, but dayum. Its things like this that convince me that the Chevy small block is the greatest engine in the world. Nothing else delivers anything close to the combination of power, efficiency, frugality, and reliability that the CSB does. As [a rough approximation of what] one of my favourite auto industry analysts John McElroy once said: "One day, when they reveal what crashed at Roswell in '47, it'll be a small block Chevy. It might run on plutonium or dilithium or something, but it'll be a Chevy small block"

Shouldn't we be seeing/hearing more about the ATS-V by now? The ATS has been out for a couple of years already & GM hasn't really said anything about a V yet.
