OEM Z28 Wheel Fitment

So I have had the Z28 wheels in my garage collecting dust, but I finally got around to mounting some RE71Rs on them. 305s on all 4. Clearance isn't an issue with stock alignment. I haven't had time to get the track alignment done, but I don't anticipate any issues. Overall, the fronts obviously poke out.... a lot. The rears however, just poke slightly despite being 11.5 width. Offsets are 11 front and 32.25 rear. Compared to stock, rears have 5mm more inside clearance and poke out 17mm more. Fronts have 4mm less inside and poke an extra 22mm. I don't mind the poke honestly. Since they are track day only, looks are secondary. Considering some springs to lower the car, the 19s vs the 20 inch oem wheels leave quite the gap up front. The photos seem to make it look worse. In person they look great. Hoping to get some better shots of it in action at LS fest this weekend.

Thanks for the pics. I like the looks of those much better than the ZL1 1LE's. Though, the 12" wheels will be nice for spreading 325's out. I believe the poke out will be similar on those wheels vs. your Z28's as the rears will have the 0.5" extra width inboard.

A lot of people will argue this... But the fronts are 11 and the rear is 32.25. I have seen nothing but guys saying it's 11 front and 26 rear. But that's not the case. They are stamped inside the wheel.

I concur on the offsets, ET26 has been reported from almost day 1 of the Z/28, but the wheels do not lie.

Your hot rod looks great with that setup!

Wow they really do stick out in the front. I hope it doesn't tear up the paint. I really do like the look though, looks great!

I have rock guards and ppf on the car. Should do the trick.

They look good IMO. Will you be maxing out the camber for track?(rubbing would be my only concern at the track events) If so can you please take some more picture when's done? Have you ever considered 325s in the rear?

I think you may benefit from going with C7 Z06 OEM fender upfront to cover some of that poke and with maxing out the front camber with the front offsets it shouldn't be an issue. I just ordered some 325s and I think it would be great on those wheels because of the perfect offset for that size. I will try them on my Apex 19x11" wheels and if I like it I will continue using them

cdb95z28 also recently told us that we were misinformed about the +26 offset in the rear, one of the posts which many people refer to (on Gen 5 Camaro forums) claims that the rear offsets are +26mm which turns out to be +32.25 mm instead. Thanks both for clarification

I will definitely consider 325s or a 315 rear in the future. A guy I race with runs 315s square on a 5th Gen SS, and he is always fast. Lots of sizes to play with. But I'm pretty sure 305 is as wide as I'll go up front.

As for the Z06 flares I'm on the fence. I won't have them this weekend, so if the PPF gets beat up I'll consider them more.

I'll post up pics in the near future once I get an alignment.

In terms of wheel fitment on that size of front wheel (11"), it would be ideal to run 315s Front and 325s rear but I am not sure if that might rub on the struts as our strut clearance is not as good as the Multimatic suspension (like the one in Z28 and upcoming ZL1 1LE). I am almost sure they also took that into an account and the aero of course to create a system works flawlessly the reason why I seriously consider multimatics, running OEM z28 wheels or custom wheels in similar sizes would never be an issue.

Please post some pics when you get them mounted, looking forward to see some 325s mounted on the rear of these gen 6 camaros. Thanks!

Another post on this very subject in tire section. Thx for posting good pix. Please post your impressions regarding handling on the track. I think the F track will be 2 inches (or so) wider than stock. Interested to find out your impressions. 305 square, or 305/315 or even 325 (price goes up...) could be nice. I also like an idea of these being Alcoas (top quality forged) and not crazy expensive. This might be the answer for a dedicated track set up with no compromises.
