Water in hinge pocket
Anyone find the hinge pocket filled with water?
I opened the trunk after rain and found the depression where the hinge and piston mount filled with water. To the rear it goes under a plastic cover above the tail light. I cant imagine they would build a well where water builds up without a drain. So Im wondering if pollen or leaves clogged something. It seems to me if the water cant escape from there it will overflow right into the trunk.

If you look at the 5th gen in this area, there is around a 10 mm gap underneath the tail lamp cover between the cover and the channel in this area to help drainage. For some reason that lesson didn't get passed to the 6th gen. You can manually trim the panel if you get crud building up in there, but the bulb seal to the decklid will prevent water from getting into the trunk.
