I always plan ahead.. I was checking on the front seat upholstery and it's not expensive at all.. You could get the cloth seat upholstery set{upper and lower} for around $250 {+ or -}...Not bad considering the price of even aftermarket pieces for classic cars..

Typical Gm seats. My seat is braking down big time on the drivers side of my truck. It is only 2 years old

This isn't just GM - all seats wear, especially on the driver's side left edge where we get in and out a lot. I worry about this on the Recaros in my 1LE, because the seat and side bolsters stick out quite a bit and make it harder to avoid scraping across them during ingress/egress.

Question: has anyone ever seen a cover for just the bolsters that is temporary but also stays put until you remove it? I see they are made for other Recaros, but how about for our specific 1LE Recaros?

I am in the same boat as you state above. I try to practice moving the seat back before getting out. This helps when you get in to avoid rubbing on the side of the seat.

Weld the door shut. Go Dukes of Hazzard style. Then you might scratch the door. Cant win.

Infiniti replaced the seat cover on my Q50. Left side bolster wearing, likely from my firearm which I carry OWB. Gotta be careful if you carry.

Seat wear like that is not covered. If it were a material defect, or a manufacturing defect, i.e. the separation at the seat fold lever, yes. However, GM cannot be expected to control how people get in and out of the car, nor what kind belts, clothing, or accessories like phones, knives, guns, etc.

Looks like you should try moving the seat back when you get out so that you're not rubbing the bolster every time.

You have to learn to not rub against the bolsters when you get in/out.
Camaro's have historically had seat bolster issues due to thin and cheap leather
