A10 shifter problems

I have a 21 Camaro 1LT/RS V6. I sometimes have trouble getting the shifter out of park. If I push down the shift knob I can eventually get it to shift. This is an intermittent problem. When it’s not doing this I can shift it out of gear without even touching the brake. I figure it’s a neutral safety switch problem but from what I understand it’s part of the shifter itself. Is this a normal issue? I’m going to take it to the dealer soon. It only has 1800 miles.

I upgraded the shifter knob which I had already planned on doing and it fixed this issue.
