Yes, stock engine! Only mods are in sig and none are go fast mods. I might make a separate thread to see if other have blown out stock cats with stock exhaust manifolds and stock motor. Kinda wild but I'm just glad there isn't (or doesn't seem to be!) engine damage.

It was the cats. Being replaced under warranty. They said it may take a while to get parts given the UAW strike, but that's fine since my HPDE season is over.

Of course, they tried to sell me on new brake pads (4 mm, 0%-20% left), new rotors ("Rotors have heat stress cracks, condition not good"), and new tires (1/32nds" left). Lol, no thanks.

If you want to replace that fresh air line from the clean side separator to the intake elbow, I've got one. Just cover cost to get it to you, and it's yours if you want it. Have extra stock belt, etc. Just shoot me a PM if you want the unbroken line and/or the belt for a spare. See the last picture in this thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=620240

Thank you, Rob. Appreciate the offer, however I've already replaced that PCV line. I ordered a new one immediately after I got home from VIR in April.

It was actually kind of a pain to find. Wasn't in stock at the time at all of the GM parts sites, but I found one at Summit Racing. PN 12687313

As I'm writing this reply, I am thinking it doesn't hurt to have a spare PCV line and spare belt given all the track time this car sees. I'll shoot you a PM!

And.......same thing just happened to me. I was at Nelson Ledges, first session, starting to get up to pace and the car lost power. Big white/grey cloud of smoke and limp mode. I was able to restart it and get it back home fine and I think it took out one of the mufflers.

Damn! Sorry to hear, Ken. I'm surprised this hasn't come up more on the forum. As soon as I posted about it on FB ZL1 group, a bunch of folks chimed in saying it's super common.

I'm not sure what warranty will do. It has a tune and the sec cats have been deleted for the catback. I'd prefer top keep it stock, but am open to alternates.

Yeah I'm not sure how they'll handle it -- might be covered since it's an emissions component? Idk. Mine is covered by warranty, but I have stock tune and exhaust.

What I'd REALLY like to do is this eventually.

After reading the entire journal and also as a ZLE owner who will be going to VIR later this year, I have to ask, considering your experience and misfortune on track - what items (parts/spares etc.) would you suggest I bring to the track (to prevent a panic stricken hustle to get home)?

Like you - I have no trailer. I live in MD and have to drive down to VIR and back.
