And just played around with the C8 build and price. A C8 the way I would have it, comes out to 69,785, which is only 3500 more than the way I would spec a C7....bravo GM
No question that the C8 is really cool. I want to see what happens to C7 prices once the C8 becomes widely available. I might be able to swing one.

So many people don't realize this. The C8 is a huge achievement for the price point.

Well, they are Canadian. And in Canada "Z" is pronounced Zed. So what they are saying is Zed L1.

Back to speculation and GT500 vs ZL1:

Consider:

The Mercedes AMG GT63 S can do the N'ring in 7:25. It has 630 hp and weighs 4,680 lbs. Take away 600 lbs, add 130 hp and carbon fiber wheels...

Another data point, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is about 4,100 lbs and has 592 hp and ran a 7:21 at the ring. Similar weight as the GT500 CFTP but much less powerful. Makes me think the GT500 will be able to surpass the 7:16 the ZLE ran if the Jaguar is only 5 seconds away from the ZLE.

The Gt500 will never be just over 4000 lbs, 4225 lbs is the weight and only has 630 ft lbs of torque versus 717 for the mercedes.

It's not just the Canadians, it's also pronounced "Zed" in England, and even when the Germans speak English, they use "Zed". As in a ZF transmission, they pronouce it "Zed Eff".

AND, Ford won't bring the GT500 to the 'ring anyway.

Fun to watch.
Finally! A car that the PP1 can beat on a road course.

The 4 second delta between the Hellcat and an MX-5 says a LOT about that track.

The ZL1 is definitely the better all-round car, and an A10 would have made the drag race pretty interesting.

Gotta love the color combo on the Hellcat though... a lot more choices in the Dodge camp for paint and interior.

Beat me to it lol. We know Ford can dial the S550 in in the GT350R....I don't have faith that they can dial it in as well as AMG can lol.

I'm sure they have brought it to the ring, what they won't do is go for a lap record.

It's MoSport in Ontario and they even mention how short and technical it is. Definitely favors light and agile over HP and downforce.
