Big mistake to not go with cats in a performance exhaust system. I have never heard a car that was catless that did not sound like garbage.

I have a set of AWE resonated mid pipes in the basement. They are made to run with oem headers and cats. I no longer needed them when I added ARH headers. Only ran them for a thousand miles or maybe two at most.

I had Kooks 2" headers, no cats and AWE Touring exhaust. While I received a lot of compliments on the system, it was quite exhausting--plenty of pun intended. It was woefully loud and not representative of the perceived speed in which the vehicle was traveling based upon the sheer noise it made. I always wanted to get around to installing resonators in there to help out with the volume and in your situation, that is what I would recommend. Get some high quality resonators installed in your mid-pipe if you can. The best one I can recommend is a Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator. Not too sure how you're gonna fit that in there but, they did wonders for my wife's car for toning down volume and rasp.
