Vengeance question

Are the hp numbers they quote for their various packages measured at the crank or rear wheels?

Z oh 6 might be able to answer your question as his ZL1 was modded by Vengeance.

I'm going to say at the crank. I have the stage 3 package which is rated at 120-130hp gain, my car gained exactly 100whp on this package. My baseline was higher than most so this falls right into their advertised power estimate. These were my dyno numbers, baseline included a Rotofab intake and AWE catback exhaust.

SAE

-Baseline-579.95/580.44 Tq

-Vengeance Package 677.58/620.11 tq

STD

-Baseline-599.99/596.01 Tq

-Vengeance Package 697.34/635.19 Tq

HP numbers from Vengeance are based on their dyno, the numbers are rear wheel HP.

I had my hopes up on their Stage 3 package, but the $26k price was more than I was expecting for 200 HP. I’m sure it would be awesome, but I don’t want a $75+k Camaro.

It was for the S3. The bid was for $30k, but that included $3800 for shipping there and back.

Just so no one gets confused, which vehicle are you upgrading and which stage 3 package are talking about? The stage 3 package for a ZL1 using the OEM blower is not $30k. not even half that. There are many stage 3 packages depending on what vehicle you have and what path you want to upgrade. If you're talking about a 200hp increase, then it must include a FBO package as well as a cam swap, and likely an aftermarket blower too for that price.

This leads to my question. Is it cheaper to just do a Maggie or something else and get 100hp or go with the stg 3? Seems just getting 100hp for about $15k or less is still more than just going to a different SC.

I assumed you’d see that I have a ‘21 2 SS. Bone stock. Just like I assumed you and SJF have ZL1s.

It includes the Magnuson since the Whipple 2.9 isn’t available anymore.

I do see that but this is a ZL1 specific forum and sometimes people change their vehicles and don't update their profile. It all makes sense now, you're basically getting a FBO package with cam and probably head work too, along with a $7K Maggie 2650 and full transportation to and from Vengeance. That's a lot of work. The price goes up considerably when you have to install a cam since the engine has to be pulled out of the vehicle and of course adding an aftermarket supercharger is going to cost a good bit too.

Problem with just adding a Maggie is that the exhaust is still really restrictive so at the least you would want to add headers which is where a lot of the cost comes in for a Vengeance stage 3 package for a ZL1.

Vengeance has their package stages thoughtfully laid out so that each package just adds to the previous package. Their prices are premium but you're also paying for one of the top shops in the country to perform the work for you and their professionalism is unreal.

I think Jannettys 125whp package is probably the best bang for the buck, especially if its using ethanol which I believe it does, however that package also requires you to do most of your own work to keep the cost down. If you pay someone to install the parts, the price goes up some but its still a good value for what you're getting.
