GM Rock Guard Mod

Anyone else sick of rock chips, or PPF that is getting beat up? I am, so I decided to try something today that I think worked out well enough that is work sharing.

I have a 1LE with the factory GM splash/rock guards. They are next to useless at blocking debris which i'm sure many of you have found. I've look at a ton of the options out there and I don't honestly think any of the options are solving the problem. guards need to be wide and long, most of what is on the market doesn't so low enough. And i'm not paying to put side skirts and rock guards on, too expensive for a problem that shouldn't exist.

so, onto the mod. I went to Canadian Tire / O'Reilly's and bought these for $15 bucks. Size B universal rock guards and secured them into my GM splash guards. So anyone with the GM splash guards i think this gives it a clean look and makes them much more effective. can barely tell they are there unless i tell you.

so will think its tacky, i think its effective and not obvious. win! I'll report back over time, but so far initial testing is promising. for anyone with the GM guards and a 1le I highly suggest you do it. safe your paint and/or ppf from needless abuse!

Did you use a self tapping screw and do the screws go into the GM splash guard or the inner fender carpet?

Did you have any issues with the screws going into the fender, or are they short enough just to be into the splash guard?

Buy the acs composites so much nicer looking. I bought Addons and they are flat plastic as well but then I say the Acs and got those instead. Anyone wants my addons you can have them

Nice and short, just into the gm splash guard. No risk to the fender!
