Gorgeous!

If you ever get into doing some interior door panels and dash trim, you've got a buyer right here...

Well I know nothing about making CF parts except for watching some videos lately. I bought all of these parts from Anderson Composites.

I have been looking at how to make CF molds etc though because I don’t like how the ZL1 insert has the weave going opposite of the others but it looks more complicated and time consuming (something I don’t have) than something I want to try.

Got it home yesterday. Man is it unbelievable. I wish the pics could do it justice.

One of the great things is there is no lip at the transition of the line from stripe to paint. He sanded and smoothed it all out.

looks sweet 1 of a kind. i have seen CF doors and front fenders are available.
why do i see ricers CF hoods all faded out is that something that just happens or did they just bolt on gel coated parts and lack UV protection???

I am not sure. Probably the factory clear is not good enough or they don’t have clear on them at all. That is why I am glad I have probably 6 coats of clear on mine. I guess that’s not completely true since he did do sanding but even after all the sanding it’s at least 3 coats so I shouldn’t have that issue.

Here is some odd information I found out over the last couple of days after driving the car and thought I would share.

evidently CF blocks radio waves pretty well.

I decided to strip the plastic off the antenna and put it in the spoiler since I didn't want to drill into my CF roof. Well when I did I didnt get any signal at all no matter where I was. I thought it was strange because I didnt think the CF was much thicker than the plastic it originally had. I even tried a regular XM antenna (aftermarket) and it wouldn't work in there either. I then stuck it directly under the trunk. Same thing.

I then searched on here and saw where some put it under the 3rd brake light so I did that and it works great.

The other thing I noticed is I couldn't make phone calls. It failed over and over when trying in a place that usually has great service. I had one to no bars though. I parked and got out of the car and my signal was normal and was able to call out. It is unscientific but I believe the CF roof had something to do with that.

I hope it doesn't become a problem, it shouldn't because I do not drive the car that much nor do I make calls when driving much but it is just strange.

Anyway thought I would share what I noticed after driving the car a little.

Well, if you ever get into espionage that could be a good thing. Although I don't think that car would blend in all that well.

Seriously though, your car looks amazing man. One of a kind man. Just reinforces even more to me that I need a ZL1 front bumper, hood, and Heritage grill.

Little late but yeah carbon fiber does block service pretty well. I have some friends with mclaren p1’s and Porsche 918’s and whenever I’m in those cars I literally have almost no cell service. I’ve always wanted to do the same thing you did. I have a sunroof so I was planning on just doing hood, trunk and spoiler but now that I have the hood and trunk on, I kind of like the aggressive look of the exposed carbon. Although the way you have yours is undoubtedly cleaner.
