Time to tear it down.

Alright gents...I've been rolling with Ted's 125RWHP package for about 2 years now. The car has officially clocked 100,000 miles and I'm looking to do a complete rebuild. New blower, new internals, and most importantly beef up the drivetrain. I've seen tons of power packages but I haven't been able to find much on trans, drivetrain upgrades for autos. Looking for suggestions.

Before you start going to the drivetrain and rear you should note what your intention is with the engine. At 600-625 rwhp now, you have a lot of headroom before necessitating beefing up the tranny or rear.

JB, my auto put down 570 RWHP, so you think I could add another 50 or so RWHP on 100k drivetrain and still have some miles remaining? I'd like to get some CNC heads and cam, but I've gotten differing opinions about porting and whether it's worth the buck.

Depending on how you treated it (driven, maintained)...yes. I've read of some Z's going 200k. Another 50 hp is nothing. And, yes, there are a number of ways to gain hp aside from porting and cam. I'm of the opinion cam and porting is required as you approach 700hp.

Start thinking about the transmission and rear end strengthen when you get into the 850 to 900 rwhp range. Even then the transmission more so than the rear end. There are three around here with that type of hp still using the stock auto transmission and rear end with no problems, of course they do not have over 25,000 miles on them. With a 100,000 miles I hope the transmission was serviced at 30,000 mile intervals.
