Tirerack stores all of their tires in climate controlled warehouses. I have purchased tires like this for the past couple of years. I track the hell out of my car and never had an issue with them. I wouldn't worry about production dates if you are buying from Tirerack.

If anyone is interested, Michelin Alpine PA4, which is a winter/snow tire has the 295/30/20s on closeout as well. Over $280 saving per tire. Before anyone asks, yes the 295s will fit on the front and they could be an adequate replacement for the 305s in the rear. Unfortunately according to the website they only have 1 at that price and a little more than $100 off per tire for the others.

I really don't see any difference...the tire might rub at full lock but on track prowess was fine. So, don't fear and run 325/30 19s on the front no problem! The car seemed equally balanced and I'm not slow but certainly not an elite driver. Fastest guys run 1:57-9 at VIR and I'm 2:01-2:02.
