The ACS ones are drilled then rivited, and very snug without ANY sagging or gaps. You just use a few simple clamps to hold them in place, then drill into the car's rockers through the existing holes on the skirts and pop in like 20ish rivets on each side. Took me a little over an hour to do both sides with the car on jack stands and including a beer break. Wrap some masking tape around the drill bit (or use a drill bit stop) to prevent from drilling too far into the car. ACS makes rock guards for the front that are moulded to fit their skirts too FTW.

Agreed. Ordered mine this week, getting them installed at the dealer next week. I'm not a fan of the ZL1 knock offs..... no disrespect to those who chose those.... but I absolutely love the fact they actually match the styling of the SS 1LE stuff.

Well, I can tell you I paid $1050.00 for the skirts. No idea what install would cost, I intend to install myself.....except the instructions are unobtainium!
Dealer I bought the car is 400 miles away and not being helpful. Local dealers won't provide, I didn't buy the car OR the part from them! Why are Gen 2 side skirt instructions top secret and how the heck do I get them?????? Frustrating.....especially when ordering it states "includes instructions", well, it includes a paper telling you to get instructions from your dealer..... And around and around I go. If I can't get instructions I will just sell them I guess..... |

I have the ACS ZL1 side skirts and would recommend. They aren’t the cheapest but everything I have gotten from them is top notch quality. 1LE satin black. Their front splitter (1LE Gen 2) even had a GM logo. It’s possible they are the OEM for that part...

When I owned my SS 1LE, I purchase the ACS ZL1 side rockers. They color matched perfectly with the 1LE satin black accents. The quality was top notch, the fitment was perfect, and the installation was seamless and easy. I would definitely recommend them to a potential buyer.

I saw the install instructions from GM on their parts site. I think it’s under documentation or something like that. They use a 3M adhesive and drill and rivet I think. After work I’ll see if I can find them for you. There is install instructions for sure though. |

At this point my rockers are so tore up, I'm going cheap and will just have the rockers refinished if I ever sell the car. My rims are a disaster already as well and the car only has 10k on it.

The install of the GM Gen 2 skirts is really easy. Lots of drilling, riveting, adhesive and some more riveting....lol Didn't take too long and they look great!!!
Quickjacks made it even easier. Only issue, 3 of the bottom rivets I couldn't get with the car on quickjacks, so, I just jacked it up to get the last ones on each side. Easy peasy! |
