Are the chassis or frame on the 6th Gen ZL1 more rugged or "stiffer" therefore more durable than the other models of Camaros?

Generally speaking most insurance company's total a typical car when the repairs approach 75 to 80 percent of the date of loss value of the car. Take a 2 yr old ZL1 for example, you first work up a actual cash value of the car based on condition before the loss, mileage and equipment. Lets say the car has a 50k actual cash value, salvage value should be high so using 75% of the actual cash value is 12,500 which would be an approx salvage value of the damaged car. If repairs approach 37k+ the ins co will most likely total the car. 20% of a 50k car would approximate a 10k salvage value or you could spend close to 40k to fix.

I agree. Or even a 2ss

I've seen number of Car Faxes when I was shopping for used Camaros that had deployed airbags on its history yet the car wasn't totaled.

A newish 2ss they would be less inclined to total it versus a cheap Kia that cost way less.

If there was a lot of damage, especially to the frame I'd almost want them to total it versus worry about if it's ever fixed properly or taking a huge hit come trade in time.
