My 2020 LT1 convertible has an issue with body alignment

I called my selling dealer Webb Chevrolet in Plainfield Illinois, I asked if they do body adjustments and they told me no not under warranty. My car has only 2,000 miles and I've noticed that on the hood in the front where it meets the bumper fascia in the center where the lock is it's way below the bumper cover. Out towards the edges It lines up perfect the service writer told me that I should just adjust the bumper pads well I told him I didn't think that would work but I tried and it didn't it really looks like that the lock needs to be adjusted up or down more likely up. Anyway shouldn't this be under warranty with only two thousand miles on it. So far the sales department was fantastic but the service department is so lame

I would suggest either go in person and show it to the service advisor or go to another dealership. I always go in person, it's just too easy for them to say no over the phone. When standing there, showing them the problem and asking them to fix it, it's harder to say no. If they say no, immediately ask to talk to the service manager. If they are not available ask to speak with the GM. The GM will not likely be happy about being bothered by an issue his service department should have taken care of already.

This should be covered under warranty.

Its a defect...its warranteed. Go to another dealer and call GM to complain about your dealer. Stevie Wonder could see a factory body defect is a warranty item.

Hope this isn't sacrilege, but can't you go and adjust it yourself? The hood latch is trivial to loosen and tighten with a ratcheting wrench.

Plus, there's the sense of accomplishment, quite unlike taking it to that unwilling dealership where you sit for hours while they're messing with your car.

Just an idea, did you ask for a 'body alignment' or did you ask for a ' hood adjustment' ??

'might' make a difference?

I had the doors adjusted on my LaCrosse because the belt moldings weren’t perfect. No questions just did the adjustment under warranty. However I think its like squeaks and rattles you have to get early.

I agree, if you can adjust it yourself, don't let the dealer touch the car... The less someone else messes with your car the less chance of something else getting screwed up...
