As I said above, I have a friend who had an Ecoboost Stang and the same thing happened to him. He was doing 148 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. Car impounded for 7 days and he spent around a grand for the ticket, tow and impound. That's just how it works here.

Has anyone here every covered any of the hard plastic surfaces with suede or leather? Specifically the top of the dash and the doors?

If you never speed on the streets, you'll never have issues ~~~

A guy did the whole freaking interior covered in leather. Every surfaces were upholstered. Even the door handles.

If I find back the thread I'll post it here.

My memory is phenomenal. Not related at all to the subject but I remembered that the guy replied in a very mean way in a thread about knee pads...

So did many other members wherever he proudly put the same photos.

I'm sorry but he deserved the answers he got. There are ways to tell people that you don't like what they have done. Clearly he took the wrong path haha.

I live in Vancouver. It is BRUTAL! Over 30 and it is a automatic tow. That's 80 in a fifty!!! or 120 in a 90!! I know you all know simple math. But it is damn near impossible not to creep up to 120 in a 90 when everyone else is passing you. These cars are very, VERY deceiving when cruising.

Not only is it impounded for 7 days and a huge fine, it is also the daily storage fee, tow bill, 9 points on your license ($150/ea), THEN....our insurance company dings us an additional $450/year because you are branded a "reckless driver"for 3 years. All of this of course is added to our INSANE "regular" insurance premiums that our monopolized provider charges. A buddy of mine was unfortunate and got towed, and he said all in, he was looking at about $3500 by the time it was all said and done.

First thing I bought was a radar. I am not a speed freak and try not to speed excessive. But like I said, these damn cars are deceptive!

**end of rant**

I have learned over the years to enjoy the cars at the speed limit. Of course it is not the same as a track or a very intense spirited driving. But knowing that I won't get caught even if I'm having a little fun makes me drive in peace and enjoy it even more. I don't have to worry about cops or anything.

And then I spend all my energy when doing karting or at the drap strip.

I have learned to keep it off the road and I couldn't be happier.

Good ol' ICBC... Gotta deal with them in September. Fun.

I thought the tow is for 40 km/h and over, AKA any excessive speeding. The same guy I mentioned got a ticket for doing 87 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. No tow, just the ticket. That was years ago, though. Dunno how it is nowadays.

And yeah I can't imagine it in the ZL1. SS is already something.

Personally I have been dinged many times for petty speeding, as in going like 15 over on streets that obviously have low or varying speed limits for some extra tax revenue. And it's not just because of the Camaro, I got dinged for that in my beater 2.4 Accord, too. Annoyed me enough to grab a radar detector. Totally worth it.

Vancouver is actually pretty notorious for that. Marine Drive is pretty much a highway. And speed limit? 50. Not 50 MPH, 50 km/h. Supposedly I heard that the speed limits on East Coast makes more sense, but in Western Canada it's no secret that they are set too low intentionally.

Installed Muzzy skip shift eliminator.
Love it. Now I am not distracted looking at dash to see the message while in traffic. I bought a manual transmission to shift when I want.
The manual trans is an awesome driving experience in my first camaro.

You know, I am bordering on this...

When I had the C7, the feature never bothered me much. The Camaro SS's skip shift is really aggressive compared to the C7, and sometimes unpredictable.

The only things standing in the way are my cheapness and laziness...
