Stupid high prices on Tires 285/35/19

I made some calls for buying & installing new tires for my new wheels on my 2017 SS. I called Discount tire and they want $ 1320 for Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, 1160 for BFG Comps AS2+, 1290 for Nitto Invo.....

I think the Covid thing has caused tire prices to go up....

Anyone in the Detroit Metro have a good shop that works with Tire Rack?

On tire Rack the tires are 245 ea for Indy 500's....

What about if you went down to a 275/40-19? When I bought my a/s 3+ the rear 275/35-20 were cheaper than the front 245/40-20.

You start playing around with tires on these cars no matter what you're "need" is, summer or A/S or snow, you'd better have 1500-2000 in your pocket. Sometimes in my shopping it's not the tire or model per se, but the sizes you need see a big jump in $$$. They'll hit you straight in the wallet for a 20" tire no matter the category it fits in.

A lot of these tire places have revolving discounts. I got my Continental ExtremeContact Sport 285/35/19 325/30/19 for $1068 shipped from Discount Tire Direct after a $100 off sale (a few months ago).

I've certainly done that, then bought tires for the wheels, only for the sale of the wheels to fall through.

Well I got the wheels shipped all in for 477......

The 275/40/19 are less... thanks for the tip. Looking at Tire Rack has some installers nearby.

We just went through it as well on my car, before a road trip we took to the Oregon/North Cali coast...

Two 245/40ZR-20 GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 3 RUNONFLAT,
and two 275/35ZR-20 GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 3 RUNONFLAT.

Total with tax was $1254 picked up, and then I had to go get em installed, but I did it wrapped up with oil and filter change, brake pads and alignment from a shop we use.

It always seems when I get in and stomp through the gears gettin on the freeway every day that it's all worth every cent, lol. So fun.
