MICE!!!
Anybody have any solid ideas on keeping mice out of cars that are not driven everyday. We have had an abnormally long cool winter and they are extra bad this year (Have caught 30+ already). I have a Z06 that they have got into and screwed up. With the new ZL1 arriving any day, I want to try to get ahead of it. I've heard mixed reviews on Bounce. Thanks

Cats
Years ago I found mac and cheese in each of the air boxes of our s10 blazer and pickup that mice were storing. Spend sometime locating and sealing any access holes into the garage. Traps, kill food and those electronic plugins may assist as well but it's probably going to be a constant battle. |

Even if they don't get eaten, cats will scare them away. Just keep a couple of cats in the garage and it will be fine....and of course and place so they can go in and out.

Moth balls all around foundation of garage on the outside. Then they make a moth ball like bag you can get at a tractor supply store. Set those inside the garage around all the garage doors etc and places you think they may get in after you seal it up. THis should fix the problem. Then a barn cat always helps.

Go to the farm store and get some black bait boxes and the blocks of mice killer with the hole in the middle. Drill a hole in the bottom of the bait box and use a landscape nail to secure it to the ground. Put one on each side of your garage or outbuilding. Put the bait on the steel poles inside the bait box so the mice can't take the blocks out of it. The bait box locks shut, keeping kids and animals out of it.
Put 6 to 10 blocks in each one at first. Check them after the first week, refill in needed. Then check them after 2 weeks, then every month. You'll notice the bait getting hit less and less each time you check it. Once you decimated the population, you'll only keep 2 to 4 blocks in each one to keep the bait fresh and then check it once a month. If you are faithful to the schedule, you won't have any mice problems. If you let a box sit empty, they'll start coming back. The bait is outside and the mice will go looking for water when they eat it. keeps them outside and they die off. I run a food production facility. We have zero mice because of this pest control program. I have a cabin at a lake and this method keeps that clear of mice as well. It's almost fool proof but you have to be loyal to the schedule. Once a month is pretty easy insurance to keep them out of your car. |

Just store the car in one of these 'bubbles', and it'll keep all critters away from it.

In the past I used the baits as mentioned above. Two winters ago a friend put me on to the Victor M793 Ultra Sonic Pest Chaser Rodent Repellent. I was skeptical but put two in two different garages. I also setup some traps in both garages. Mice are gone! Have not caught a single mouse in the 6 traps over the last two winters. A side benefit is the spiders that used to like my one garage are also gone.
