New Camaros no heated/cooled seats or wheel…

I looked and wasn’t sure if I saw this on here yet. This page in particular shows the Chevy vehicles affected.

Shows all Camaro models. I’ve got an order in for a ZL1 1LE. It hasn’t been accepted yet or anything. The heat isn’t the biggest deal since it’s a summer only car for me. I guess even the ventilated seats aren’t a deal breaker if they’re anything like the C7 corvette which barely did anything compared to my suburban or any other “normal” non sports car.

BUT it does kind of irk me considering this isn’t a mclaren 765LT. It should have these features. Also not crazy about the retrofit after the fact. You know that’s gonna end up in messed up Interiors etc.

I guess if all the components were there and all it needed was a chipset or something like that , it wouldn’t be a big deal BUT it’s hard to say what way they are going about it.

It's the same for everybody. Each week they drop another option that needs more CHIPS. With winter coming on maybe they can fill the orders waiting.

I don't always believe GMA, some of their articles are just to have content and get clicks - but the level of detail included this one makes me think they have a legit source this time. That really sucks for everybody who has a car on order, and I hope it doesn't impact you on a feature you really want. If I was in the same boat, it would be a very tough decision on whether to accept the credit or walk away from the deal.

One thing I will point out before somebody brings it up here, since the GMA comments section has once again made this mistake - microchips are not interchangeable, it's not like they can take the chip used for the blind-spot detection system on a car and use it for the ventilated seat system.

I won’t pull my order because of it considering a lot can change since I’m sure across the country there’s a lot more people in line before me for an LE. Ultimately I’d be ok without the options considering I was looking at a gt500 track pack which for sure doesn’t have the seat features and not sure about the wheel. Should def be a bigger incentive than $50.

As a thin silver lining, seat ventilators aren't exactly powerhouses in the Camaro. They are fine with me, but many people find them weak. With the A/C on and some air directed towards the floor, they make much more of a difference, though.

This may be true, but as someone who never had ventilated seats before and has no basis of comparison, I can say they do work - they are definitely noticeable and something I will appreciate when the Texas summer rolls around.

I would never own a leather interior that does not have heated/ventilated seats. That is 110% a deal breaker for me in any vehicle.

I've had leather seats exclusively in every vehicle I've owned since 2005, and never really noticed any adverse effects - this MAY be because I always keep the windows up and run the AC to at least a few degrees below ambient temperature. But now that I've had the experience, it might just become a deal breaker for me going forward!

I think I also said they do work, but sure ain't like those 7' x 7' fans I saw in a steel mill a couple years ago that the foreman warned us no to get in front of, unless we want to fly, then be rolled into red hot steel

OP, I'd definitely inquire about retrofitting. If all they need to remove is the seats or the BCM, that's quite doable without messing up the interior.

Yes, you did, sorry if my response seemed like I was disputing what you said - my focus was on your reference to the people saying they were weak.

No offense taken at all These things are very subjective anyway, one man's perfect seat ventilator output is just weak breeze to another.

The interesting part is it says some units.
Whats going to determine what units will and won't?
