I have a 2019 convertible. The new camera mirror doesn't completely eliminate blind spots, but it certainly opens up the view out the back. Instead of seeing the inside of the car you get an adjustible wide-angle view behind you. The blind spot monitoring helps with any remaining blind spots on your corners.

I think it's been mentioned in other threads, but with the top down the camera mirror is pretty much useless thanks to the glare on it. However, a flip of the switch and it reverts to a regular mirror with works perfectly with the top down.

Adjust mirrors properly (so that you can't actually see the sides of your car...there's more to setting up properly than this, but at the very least if you can see the sides of your car at all, you are doing it wrong).

With the way mine are set, I can see when a car comes out of my rear view, into my side view nearly seamlessly.

Blind spots for lanes right next to you are not really an issue with this car...not like people make it out to be. There are other blind spots though, but that is mainly when navigating tight spots or if you have a need to see an object that would not be immediately in either lane next to you, and is 3/4 behind you.

I'm just going to comment here...I have a 2019 3LT. And I don't really have blind spots. Like very minimal. The blind spot monitoring hasn't even come in handy to me. Just adjust your mirrors properly.

The camera mirror for me has made driving the LA freeways much easier, nice wide unobstructed view, I never switch it back over to the regular mirror anymore.

I like it in the day time, at night headlights on cars behind just washes out the image for me and I go back the regular mirror.

I rented a 2SS for a week recently and it had the camera mirror.

Honestly I did not like it, day or night, because I found it disorienting.
And it was raining periodically so it became obscured quite easily.
At night it just glared as the previous poster said.

So I turned it off and left it off for the entire week.

In word: no. It's different and takes some getting used to, there is a positive and negative, the positive is you have a better view of what's behind you, the negative is when you're at a light you can see the guy's yellow teeth in the car behind you or the grill emblem of the Toyota truck that's right on your ass.(stopped, of course)
Another negative is at night the headlights of the cars behind you start to "whiteout" areas of the screen, that's my biggest complaint, I would've thought they noticed that before production.

Does anyone else get a headache viewing the camera while driving? I never use it for that reason. Parking lots, I sometimes use it.

Huh, I think it removed blinds spots 100%. There is never a time where a vehicle cannot be seen in the mirrors

Do the 2SS. ZL1, and RS models come with the blind spot monitoring too? You'd think both options would work well together to help eliminate the blind spots.

I had a loaner CT6 and my eyes were sore after a few minutes. I could easily see him a headache after any amount of time.
It's from constantly refocusing your eyes to the screen, then back to what's in front of you. I really couldn't take it. That plus a Ford SUV with LED DRLs was stopped behind me at a red light and the image of the lights on the mirror was strobing.

Hmm, interesting how everyone’s eyes / brain process information. I have zero issues with day use and top up. Do I need it? Nope, not all...I could easily do without. I still like it though...for the little driving I do with the top up.

I agree, it really is interesting. I couldn't imagined getting used to it but I know this site is filled with people that love it and people with the same experience as me. That's why I've suggested that people take it for a test drive and see if it works for them.

This. Proper mirror set up is all you need. I swear some people just need to be driving in a fish bowl lol.
