so i have mine installed ut I was told I had to have the ac running at all times, even when Im just normal driving which seems over the top, not to mention a waste of gas when its nice out and i want the windows down. One other thing I dont like is the fan has been tuned to damn near always be on which of course helps when im at the track, but for just cruising, its just fan noise 24/7, something I havent gotten used to yet.

They have even uninstalled a couple of them due to that AC not being able to work because of the intense heat?? Which doesn't really make much sense since the manufaturer is located in Australia which is a pretty hot place, also, so... Any insight??
I'm in Phoenix and was actually wondering if the heat here would be an issue for this system. The condenser already gets extremely hot, and while the cooling on the ZL1 is nothing short of amazing, there's only so much 120* heat can do to cool down a condenser. The issue is probably that people are noticing the cabin AC isn't nearly as cold (when ambient temps are real warm).

I'd be interested to know the actual story though.

The fan and A/C have to run all time, that kills it for me. Guess I'll go a different route. Thanks for the heads up

It seems as though that is the issue. I only heard it from shops, though. And it is exactly what you said - the AC just doesn't cool the cabin enough on hot days...
I did talk to Matt Everest (Lethal Camaro) who has one installed, and his opinion is that it definitely is not for a daily driver, for that very same reason - AC just doesn't cool enough in the cabin...Which is too bad. I mentioned to him that my AC already doesn't do as great a job on hot days as it is, in my opinion, and he said that his car was the same (before the interchiller). Don't know how t it is on the LT4s though...
Unfortunately I already have an Interchiller one on order... Was too late to cancel... I should have done a better job researching before jumping on it!

I had the same issue until I switched the refrigerant to 134A instead of the new 1234 refrigerant. When I first got my car the a/c system was only blowing cold when it was cold outside lol. It never worked when it was hot out but now with 134A it works flawlessly.

Oh wait. Did you mean you switched to '134A' instead?

I just called Complete Street and they want 3700 for the kit and install.

It would be more cost effective to convert DC to AC and run freezer guts in the trunck placing the evaporator in your ice tank box.

That is crazy money. I got the kit direct from fi Interchillers for under $1600 usd. They want over $2k to install?

I wish I had more insight but I haven’t installed mine yet. It doesn’t seem like it should be that much work.

Interchiller has been on my ZL1 for about a week and a half and the install price was $750 lol. I left the car idling for about 30 minutes and it was 95 degrees outside and coolant temps going into the bricks was 43 degrees! The car no longer feels slow during hot summer days. The cabin A/C temps run even colder now than it did without the interchiller. Car goes back on the dyno next week.
