Mind posting an example picture or two? I'm not a professional photographer, but I might be able to help. Are you taking pictures with a tripod or just by hand? My best guess is that your hand is wobbling ever so slightly and that's causing the exposure to appear just a tiny bit blurry/fuzzy.

I use a nikon d5000, I upload to photobucket at around 1000xw/e pixel.... then tag them in. I have to resize my photos down by 40% to get them down to the 1000X900 pixel range

A tripod works wonders at night. The fuzziness shouldnt be all that visible during the day, with plenty of light around. Also, if your camera has a timer, use it! Some cameras pick up movement while you press the button, and you get blurry pics. Post some pics of your problem, maybe it's just a setting on your camera.

My cheap little Sony Cybershot DCS-W120 never takes blurry/fuzzy photos. On the back it says: SUPER STEADY SHOT. works for me every time.

The camera your using isn't a very good. The IS in it is very poor, that's why you are getting fuzzy pics. You need to get a Canon or Nikon with a optical IS (image stabilization) ... A decent one will cost you around $400 ...
This is what I use for a walking around camera ... http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=19208 I also own several Digital SLR cameras with high end lenses ... This was hand held with my walking around camera ...

Looks like it could be a camera settings issue. The one with the mountains in the background could have been better if your camera had a scenic mode or a position that looks like mountains on it. What this does is make the camera take in more information and focus a lil different as well as stops the lens down to take a better picture.
In most normal modes, it does a scene balance, focus is at the item in the center of the image and then the rest is out of focus or slightly in focus. Most folks leave the camera in ONE Mode when they take pictures and do not use these other modes. Many people do not force the camera to use a fill flash either. This can improve many shots taken even in daylight. |

Not that they are bad pictures, but you are working with some horrible lighting. I know, if you could move the sun around to get some better angles It may have helped if you could have found a little shade for that dark car. I also have a CGM, and getting it in the right lighting conditions (outside) is not easy. Now when I set up my on lights and can control it, it's much easier. If it had been early morning (sunrise) or late evening (sunset), it may have made that CGM pop a little more. Keep playing and taking pictures, you'll find what works.

Your pics are fine dude. Just touch 'em up a bit with photoshop. The sharpen filter is your friend.

They look a little soft; maybe they aren't much out of focus and it's a setting. I don't know how your autofocus works, but mine will usually try to focus on the reflection. I can get it to autofocus on a grill piece or wheel that is the distance I want focused, or focus manually.
How did you get that thing down a gravel road so cleanly? |

I have the same problem as you....I just picked up an Olympus 14mp the other day...I plan on returning it. It doesnt matter how many mexapixels it is if the optics suck....just means you'll have a large crappy picture.

Hard to beat a full size Professional camera like the Nikon D series but if your looking for a slightly cheaper way to go.
Try one of these. Panasonic Lumix ZS3 10 MP (Actually 12 MP, but it's 10 true MP) 720 HD Video recording 12x opt zoom 4x digital zoom (digital is worthless) I've had this camera for about a year, it's awesome. Pictures are great but I bought it for the video abilities. Here's a video of my 67 Camaro before I sold it to buy the new one. Definitely miss it. Enjoy the video. |

I just got a Cannon XSi, 12.2 MP and it works great. I also did some readying and found out that even in sunlight, it helps to use a flash to get rid of Shadows. Here's I couple I took last weekend.
