Lightbulb Possible NEW engines and drivetrains for 7th gen Camaro!!!

I was recently invited to do an online market research survey because I'm a current Camaro owner. The following is a screen capture from the survey, IMO the most interesting part. It's pretty obvious that the 5.5L V8 is the same flat-plane crank engine thats going in the corvette. And the 5.9L, maybe the same block just stroked or bored? There was an option for a 6 speed dual clutch transmission. And a BEV option. I'm pretty excited. I believe this means a 7th gen is in early development

The only electric motor I need in a Camaro is the one used to start the engine....

😂😂😂
Seriously that 5.9 Supercharged certainly looks nice. I’m not an electric vehicle type of guy but they are gonna be coming in all sorts of vehicles in the close future.

Could be a survey for the new gen Camaro but doubt it! Until we get official word from Chevrolet/GM, I will continue to believe that there won’t be a 7gen Camaro.

800 hp in the Camaro? No way GM lets that happen unless the competition is making 1200+.

How about a retro GEN3/GEN4 Fbody styled Camaro built on a Alpha2 platform, with no weight increase over the GEN6, and a C8's LT2. (At least for the SS) And keep the M6 and A10 transmission options. For the upper ($50k+) trims maybe even a DCT transmission. Give the car the proper rear visibility, and don't come with a big price hike and I'm happy. Also get rid of that AFM/DOD crap. If you must go DOHC then give us one with a 4"+ bore so we can eat Coyote alive. ☺

the interchangeable bodyshell between electric and gas camaros might be what keeps them viable in the future, just as the T4 and V6 cars make the current SS affordable.im thinking the V8 vehicles are going to be a niche market in the not too distant future.

I wonder if they're relegating the V6 to the Caddy for now on given those options.

Would anyone be a taker for the 2.5L turbo 4 cylinder hybrid? A full second faster to 60mph and much better MPG for around $4,500.
I don't usually pay attention to hybrids, but in this application it's actually kind of tempting...

That's cool there is a survey, at least a step towards a gen 7 Camaro.

They probably hired a company to run some customer research to help decide if they want to offer a seventh gen and if so what options / powertrains do people want. That supercharged version looks nice. Is that the real power numbers or are they being helped along with the hybrid elec power to reach those numbers. I agree the only electric motor I need is the one to start the engine or roll up the windows
