Mods A or Mods B, Which would you do or have done?

Ideally i would do both at the same time, but not sure i want to tie up that much money in it. I promised the wife i would wait til the 18 Daytona is paid off, which will be in a few months to mod the Z. The Camaro i paid off last year. If you had to choose one and goals are 9.7-9.9's and be able to drive it anywhere without issues. Basically, Cam or larger SC? In addition to either i will add a Drag Pack 17" rear and 18" fronts.

I could be wrong, but i am thinking to do both at the same time would be appx an extra $5k. I keep flip flopping on my decision now that time has gotten so close. Need input!!

Mod list A
Cam
Oil pump
Kong w/103TB
Big Gulp
ARH 2", resonators, ARH exhaust into stock muffler
Pump booster and e85 kit
Pulleys 1 or both
Tune

Mod list B
2650 supercharger
Big Gulp
103TB
Pulleys 1 or both
ARH 2", resonators, ARH exhaust into stock muffler
Pump booster and e85 kit
Tune

Welp, you can run up to about 700 WHP on the stock cam, which a 2300 or 2650 will put you there with basic intake and exhaust pretty instantly. That will be a wonderful streetcar, but it’s unlikely to run high 9’s.

Aren't you going to need more fuel than that?

I've been thinking about something like what you're looking at. Where I keep falling is if I ever get into tracking this thing. That wee' 1.7 is already about tapped-out much past stock, whereas I think I can get more from a bigger blower. It's more expensive, but will be far more than I will ever take total advantage of. Heat soak will probably be less of an issue with a bigger blower, and more and more, it seems 2650s are really where it's at for PDs at this point.

If you run a big enough cam and really optimize the 1.7, you can get out to probably 800 to the tire. That's going to take a lot of work.

I was kinda of basic my list and times I want from what i saw in the 1/4mile fast list. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...3gM/edit#gid=0

I wouldn't bother with the 2300, if i did a SC swap it would be the 2650. I prefer not to mess with meth which will hinder my performance. The other concern with the stock blower is i dont want to spin it so much that its not dependable if i want to go on a long road trip.

All besides the 2650 is bone stock down to the air filter.

If it is that concerning, put it on list B and call it a day.

Consider fuel mods while there in case your goal isn't reached or you want more!

If your not doing port or the XDI katech setup I would consider the LPE stuff its really good and works, I screwed up 2 ways on mine the fuel lobe and DSX low side. 1st I went with the 7.85 lobe could of swore i got the 8.2 and 2nd the DSX low side wasn't enough I didn't take full advantage of the parts. This kit will do 900 plus on straight E85 no mixing. I only got to 870 cuz I just didn't know and there isn't a lot of info shared on it. iLPE was nice to get in touch tuner to tuner and shared the parts info for a big company they really are good to deal with.

LPE Big Bore Pump
LPE Cam with the bigger LOBE not a 32 or 38% but with there proprietary lobe that works with there pump only its just barely clears the cam bearings or if you order a custom cam have them make that lobe of 44% or 42 can't remember exactly I think it is 8.2mm vs 7.85(38%)
FIC Injectors 30 over or now or even 45 plus or the lingenfelter up to you!
Low side with 100 psi pressure and 80 psi under load.. * set up like the DSX but return style or the Fore setup..
ATI damper
ATI blower ring
upper if you port the stock blower

I'd focus on the fuel... that's the problem area.. swapping a blower later on even porting the oem later on if you run out of money now for the fuel this is something you can do easy then drive slow to the tuner..

you can always do the katech blower porting at one time it was 499.00 that way if you did want a bigger blower you would not have much into it and still pick up some power.. I'm seeing people with their ported blower barely get more than a stock blower when selling and going to prochargers ect..

you can buy all the beast parts and use the best porter ect but unfortunately you have to fuel them!

Mod B will be the
Most dependable but it will not get you into the 9s. Going with Mod A you will not have trouble on long trips as it’s not like you are doing a dozen pulls and in boost all the time. You can be at 85mph and never be in boost.

If you were to add an oil pump to Mod B then you might as well add a cam to that. That’ll put you in the 9s for sure. I went with Mod A and meth. Loving it.

Kong will take you to 9.9's and you can still have the $$ for a cam. that's my vote

The 2650 and a tune alone got you about 110hp to the wheels? That’s awesome to build off of. The cooling of those blowers compared to the 1.7 is night and day from what I hear.

Yep, could have went higher but chose to stay where I was for the time being. I really want to get the trans unlocked for my next round.
