In 1990 I bought an AWD Eagle Talon and it destroyed pretty much everything with it's 2.0L turbo, lol... Those were the dark days when American V8s made barely over 200 hp.

the GTO's I raced were all M6 cars. Their drivers couldn't launch them to save their lives lol If they could have they would have easily smoked my high 13 second GT lol

Btw I sound like a gt350 hater but I actually think it's a badass car. Just a have to troll the troll lol. I'd take a gt350 over a gt500 or auto zl1 all day.
I'm just the opposite. I'll never go back to a manual, not in a modern car.

Yep, 04 was ls1 5.7 with even more tame styling than the 05-06. They added hood scoops, the ls2, and big fat dual exhaust tips in 05. 06 added optional 18inch wheels along with the 17s and then it died lol.

Great car imo interior was way better than the camaro for its time and besides the infotainment systems new cars have the gto has an impressive specious (big back seats for a coupe) interior with quality materials to this day. Only drawback was the tiny trunk due to the fuel tank relocation for US import. The camaro was actually an upgrade as far as trunk space goes believe it or not lol.

The closest race that I had where is neck an neck was with a 1990 Iroc 1LE 5 sp, it was faster than the 350 Iroc that I raced, this was all around 90 to 95.
Many kids had fast cars and had no idea how to drive, I would stay mostly to stock vs stock races as my car was bone stock.

I had an auto with a 4l60e before I switched it out for a 6 speed. I used to wreck everybody off the line with that car, with the 6 speed I became more of a roll racer lol. The m6's were definately tricky to launch and were plagued with wheel hop stock.

Yep! I am sure the GTO club that was at the track that day hated seeing their 400HP LS2s get beat by a 260HP 2V GT lol. I was lucky none of them had the auto haha

I had an '89 LX 5.0 that I bought new, and contemporary Camaros were little threat stock to stock. If both were modified, the Camaro needed more mods than the Mustang they were racing. Stock to stock, things changed in '93-94, but I was in the 11s by then and not paying much attention to stock cars.

I try to play stock vs stock mostly also... I'll race anyone but put little weight into races with highly modified or supercars.

Good thing we have choices these days and pretty much all performance cars (except vipers, gt350s, and ss 1le's)

funny 4th gen story. I got transferred to Brunswick ME(I'm retired Navy) & a guy stationed there has a '96 LT1 Trans Am 6 speed that's stock except for K&N. I get there in my 2000 Trans Am: WS6 hood, lid, ported tb, lS6 intake, Hooker longtubes, no cats, true duals, Yank SS 3600 stall. He argued with me for months on how much faster his stock lt1 was than my ls1 b/c of his being 6 speed. He never would race me. I miss that Trans AM. Crappy interior but car was strong. Plus/looks/T-tops.

Yea my auto 06 gto made me respect the 4 speed slushbox trans from a dig lol.

Hey man I read your build specs on your GT. Helping my cousin with his 19 GT build, did the Velossatech BM do anything to your car in your opinion? I know the mustangs have a better air funnel from the grill to the intake from the factory than the camaros do. Or did you do too many mods at once to tell?
