Here is why i say it will be close to 90K, It will come with CCB that adds $ but lowers the cars weight CCW to remove more weight, then a N.A motor and to top it of looking at a DCT which is coming out in 2019 or there about, think with that set up they can get the car down to 3500LB, if the 2.0t (for The 1LT) is only 3200LB don't see why they cant get a track car down to the 3500lb range.
PS, think they don't need to make more then 400 units a year, this is an engineering test car not for every one, but so was the last Z/28 they only made to many of them. |

3,339 lbs for the lightest manual transmission trim.

Even so, the thought of a V-8 Camaro weighing less than a Corvette Grand Sport just sounds insanely expensive. Obviously not a car for everyone, but at the price point it would come in at why?

I can see it going one of two ways:
An expensive engineering test bed, with stuff like carbon wheels and brakes, maybe even active aero. Very expensive but very capable. More about pure capability than sales. Or, a car based on the aero and suspension of the ZL1 1LE, with 530-550 hp and an interior similar to the 1SS 1LE. A very capable car but not so extreme. One that would probably sell in great numbers.

Honestly, I don't know that this car can make up the extra 13 seconds without either the A10 or simply more power..

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=477232 Go to post 39 there you will see the 2.0T comes in at 3237LB so now can we get a Z/28 down to the 3500LB range. |

I picture the Z/28 Camaro being essentially a SS Camaro with the ZL1 1LE kit and body panels, carbon ceramic brakes, and they need an engine for the package which is the tricky part. I would much rather see a more powerful 6.2L engine or something in that area so that it doesn't need the drive line and engine weight that comes with the LT4 or even an LT5 engine. I think that such a vehicle can come in at the low 3,600 pound weight area which is where it would need to be. Also take the SS at $37,000 and add $9,000 for the ZL1 1LE kit brings you to $46,000, add another what $5,000 for CC brakes and you have a car that comes in at just over $50,000.

$50,000-$55,000. Stripping a car theoretically reduces the cost, as does replacing heated/cooled/motorized seats with manually adjustable seats. Adding in a chromoly roll cage and some harnesses isn’t even enough to match the price reduction of the weight reduction. So really, the car could cost the same as an SS1LE. With another $5k-$10k in the budget, Chevy could use the cammed version of the LT1, make the PDR standard, use the Eagle F1 3R tires, Lighter wheels, and have black lights and badging all the way around. So realistically sticker price would be much less than a ZL1 and you’d be getting a 3,450-ish pound track car with 535hp. It’s not going to sell much but it’ll live up to the Z/28 name.
