FWIW, now that we have hit upper 80's and low 90's, my AC seems to be working about as well as it ever did. So to recap:

1 Aluminum door
1 Hack into the box
1 Recharge of the reefer system

Now I'm good to go for the summer and hopefully beyond. About $225 in parts and recharge labor. And three days on my back on the floor of the Camaro in January (w/seat removed) and it was all a piece of cake!

Ha! I wish my repair job was as simple as that. Good luck and I'm glad its working out for you so far. I have to say that my AC is so damn cold right now that I have to bump it up a few notches otherwise my bones get cold ha!

Yeah, mine's no bone chiller but then it never was. I suspect there is simply warm air bleeding through some breach in the closed hot/cold duct work / system. I'll be back to bitch when we hit 100°!

So would this be a blend door scenario?

First picture is the middle vents, and the second picture is a reading from next to the driver side door vent. Both after five minutes. Side window is tinted, so I don't think the sun would make that much difference.
Sorry theyre sideways.

50° and 70° are what I read.

I just had the compressor replaced and charged a month ago.

I am not sure but that is a good question. I am tinted all around minus the windshield. From what you are describing it seems to be a blend door issue from what I have read, but don't take my word for it. Funny thing is when I asked the service advisor at the dealership to replace my blend door with one that I supplied... he right away asked me which side I was having an issue with... left or right side?... That lies the question for me is I did not think there were two of them. However he drives a 6th Gen so I do not know if there are any differences or if he was just testing my knowledge. When I specifically told him about the failure points of the blend door on the "drivers side" under the dash... he then right away knew what I was referring to.

I will say this though.. my AC is running colder than it ever did from what I remember from 7-8 years ago when I purchased the car. So you may be right about warm air bleeding through somewhere..

After talking with a friend who is in general Auto Repair and who is also in a Camaro Club, he's done his fair amount of upgrades on friends' and customers' Camaros, and usually does the repair and maintenance work on mine as well except he's down with a knee replacement.

He told me this wouldn't be a blend door issue but a condenser issue that it's probably clogged from his guess without being able to look at the car up close.

The Gen 6s have climate control so they probably do have two blend doors. That's verbatim.

45° in middle vents,would be closer to the correct temperature.

Mine is progressively warmer as you start at the left most driver's side vent and go to the right most passenger side. Both BEFORE AND AFTER blend door replacement. But pretty cold on the two driver's side. Just happy it's as cold as it is and I didn't pay $4K to have the outcome the same.

Yeah I agree. With the $3500 I spent towards this repair.. the $$ could have gotten me a decent 3rd Gen in my driveway

They did a leak test and found vapors coming from the condenser. So I am supposed to get mine back by close on Friday.
